I concur. I've found some sites to be more pleasing to use on white even if my macOS happens to be running in dark mode. Long documents I want to read and edit with light theme even if otherwise I run with dark theme. I find the "paper white" background more adept to that work pattern for me.

....mind blowing. I was able to create, within 10 minutes of first visiting exe.dev, to bootstrap a functional UI for ESC preview song rating (for a group of friends to use) with @redwoodjs.com all from my freaking phone! I plan on making this app later for real but wow how fast prototyping can be!
