I was just thinking about you, so Icame here looking for updates! Sorry things have been so rough, Star.

ValiantShadow Sims @valiantshadowsims.bsky.social · 23/12/2025

I disappeared for a bit! Sorry. Life was crazy. Had a lot of parenting stuff going on, then my father died-- and I started college, all around the same time. It was a rough time. BUT! I live! HUZZAH! Here's the opening scene of Hardcase & Vixen. Get hyped! youtu.be/eN_JEOJjl_g #SimsMachinima

I haven’t gotten anything like that yet on any of my channels. That’s… really weird. Are you sure it wasn’t a scam email? Like was it official YouTube stuff?

Oh God, am I just stupid? This was giving me all kinds of grief, and I couldn’t figure it out, so I just hard quit and restarted, and it was fixed, this time at least. Was I just being blind? Goddamnit.

ValiantShadow Sims @valiantshadowsims.bsky.social · 12/07/2025

Sims 4 people-- I got hit with the gray overlay bug. I've fixed this before, but I'll be damned if I can remember how.

There is so much that EA could do to make the implementation of updates better for all of us. But they won’t. I think they just enjoy seeing us scramble and suffer. Lol

Of course it would be right when I’m all set to start working on my subtitled in-game machinima, a bunch of mods break. We’ll get there, we’ll get there! More updates on Hardcase & Vixen soon! Just been incredibly sick (again) and busy.

Just keep doing your thing. The people who really matter will be there to support you.

Definitely get what you mean. I’ve had some wonderful experiences, but I’ve also had some incredibly negative ones, too. I feel a lot more welcome these days, but for a long time, I really felt like I had to fight hard to be acknowledged. Not great. But I’m grateful for all the good people. <3

Casting for Hardcase & Vixen is done! Thank you so much to everyone who auditioned. There were some incredible submissions, even from people who I really wanted to work with again, but I had to follow my gut. SO HARD TO CHOOSE! This cast is gonna be killer, though, and I can't wait! #simsmachinima

@psylockexs.bsky.social Hey there! Sorry I can't DM you privately, but I couldn't add ya on Discord, and I don't think I can DM you on here without us being moots! But you auditioned for my new machinima a while ago, and I'm happy to say you're in! Let's connect so I can set you up with the cast!

Hadn't watched Intertwined until a month or two ago, when a bunch of us Sims Machinima people did a watchalong. I barely had context and I still enjoyed the hell out of it. And! No spoilers, but I got to do a really fun bit as an extra in the finale, so that was also super fun. :p Can't wait!

Yes, I've seen the account that alleges to be from someone at a literary agency, making fun of queries that come through the door. If real, it's shitty, unethical behavior, also, I just wrote a best-selling book about the moon turning to cheese, so fuck anyone shaming writers for "out there" ideas.

The most I can say is-- anyone who's worked with me will vouch for me-- I will always go above and beyond to take care of my casts. Your comfort is important to me. So if you'll take a chance on this weird, dark, violent, fucked up machinima series-- I think you'll have a great time!

ValiantShadow Sims @valiantshadowsims.bsky.social · 04/04/2025

I just want to get out in front of something-- I know the casting call talks about some really messed up themes, stuff that can be really off-putting to people, if not outright upsetting. Trust me-- I get it!

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who's auditioned so far for Hardcase & Vixen! There've been so many awesome submissions already, and it makes me so damn thrilled. And thank you to everyone who's been reposting the casting call! I see you! True heroes, all of you!

Hardcase & Vixen is being filmed in Blender, but I’m also in the very early stages of planning for my first in-game series. Also thinking of doing a subtitle series. Really inspired by @wintersims.bsky.social Attachment Theory. Be nice to work on something completely independently, at my own pace.

At this point, the only thing about the game that excites me is the competition it potentially could provide for Sims. The gen AI has more or less completely killed my enthusiasm to actually play it.
