I've travelled extensively in the western states of the US and come upon little museums that chart and illustrate the genocide of the indigenous people especially by the wholesale slaughter of the buffalo which was they main source of food, clothing and living accommodation. Horrific photos.

I'm pressing the emergency button and eventually someone speaks to me in Spanish but husband is making so much noise with shouting and banging the door I can't hear him clearly. Just to make matters worse it's 35 degs and hubby says he wants a pee. Eventually got moving but nightmare scenario. Need🍷

Just had a terrible 15 minutes. In our apartment block there a small lift just for four people and that's pretty tight. We got to our floor and the door wouldn't open. The light went out and my husband who has Alzheimer's started to freak out. 1/2

It makes my blood boil to read these bloody totally inaccurate accounts. There are even people in my home town, especially people who refer to themselves as expats, who believe they landed on the Spanish mainland. One idiot on our local FB site asked if it was Javea. Sanchez handled it really well.

Here in Spain at the moment. Although the actual temperature is in line with the norms the humidity is unbelievable. Think Florida. I am reluctant to leave my air conditioned apartment. It's overwhelming. For the first time we can't sit in the evenings on our lovely large terrace.

I wouldn't be surprised. I haven't got a thermometer on my terrace and haven't passed the Farmacia where I usually see what the actual temperature is. Spent this afternoon with the aircon on. Like I mentioned this area is notorious for humidity.

I remember waking up and crying when I saw the result. Couldn't believe it, especially my idiot English friends who had second homes here and voted for it. Most of them illegally spent my time here than the UK and were flabbergasted and indignant when they visits were curtailed.

I reckon pigeon's have some telepathy that we are not aware off. Most evening outside the local bar I give my peanuts or crisps to a couple of pigeons hanging about but within five minutes the flock arrive and I'm getting dirty looks from the owner.

I'm embarrassed to admit it was only last week I acquired the knowledge that the location of the Battle of Waterloo was in Belgium and this was courtesy of Michael Portillo's excellent train journey tv series on BBC2. God knows where I thought it was before.
