Painful memories of losing a very important support system for me at a very vulnerable time in my life because someone, similarly, decided to diagnose my behavior as "sociopathic," and in doing so got everyone in the group to collectively believe I was just being manipulative, rather than hurting.

I guess to be fair with this particular case, it did hit a sore spot. I saw a lot of younger me in that particular character, and it was just gross to me to see people doing that thing where they use clinical language to sound objective, but are actually just being very harsh and judgmental.

I do need to stop trolling myself by reading takes from people who objectively have absolutely zero credibility whatsoever It's not the easiest habit to break though because I think like I am this perfect storm of a neurotic fact checker and also prone to gaslighting myself because I feel stupid.

Felt smug recently b/c there was a particular character about whomst there was a lot of buzz a while back and the internet was "diagnosing" that character with ASPD and I was like nah they more AVPD, and recently an actual professional did a react and said they were AVPD so yeah fuck you i was right

Also hi I'm back I have been sick I think my body finally had enough after a very hectic month of not enough sleep or downtime. I am famously very unsocial when I am not feeling well, also in part because my joints get mad at me for spending a lot of time in bed which makes me HATE TYPING.

Would highly recommend doing it the way I did, Sidequests in areas as you visit them, and content divided per patch. Close to how it would have been intended to feel per the original release schedule, if slightly accelerated due to y'know NOT having to wait months between patches. Still!

My perspective on things is very different. I feel more worthy of my exalted status as the Warrior of Light, and my opinions on a number of characters are shifted. I didn't really "get" Minfilia before, but she is the goat tbh. The other Scions feel like Colleagues in ARR, she is the first FRIEND.

Realm Reborn done on the alt. Realized I had never actually done most of it, on account of being stuck in a "gotta get to endgame" mindset, and also generally being told it was bad, and something to "get through." Honestly? Doing it in the "intended order" and with EVERY sidequest, it was great.

They're under the side / "yellow" quest umbrella, but I've on my alt been doing all the content in accordance to releases, and tbh all of them add a LOT to the MSQ and job quests experience in general - but these lil mailman quests are STAGGERINGLY good.

I think about post-apocalyptic fiction as well. Always this notion that in the absence of civilization, humans become savage and violent. When in reality, I think that in the absence of capital and government, what ever remained of mankind would probably by and large just take care of each other.

I understand where the cynicism comes from, of course. But I also don't like it. It's easy to get hung up on the dictator of the era and forget about things like "oh hey we have a for this disease that has been killing huge numbers of people for millennia now", the big steps forward that DO happen.

I haven't watched Star Trek because it isn't like super my *aesthetic* but I appreciate enormously its optimism in terms of sci fi. Like the majority of sci fi genre is pretty cynical about the nature of humanity and civilization, oft to a degree which I feel isn't completely fair to humankind.

I feel like it's a very terminally online thing, they want there to be this neat and tidy "The POC Experience™" that they can keep on their desk, quote passages from it here and there so they can profess to understand, and everyone will applaud their virtuousness and not see them as privileged.

Lit is valuable, but even the very best literature is akin to a photograph, imo - sometimes it may be a really REALLY good photograph, the right author(s) may give you insights that you wouldn't in a lifetime find on your own - but even then it will not and in fact CANNOT tell you *everything*.

I had to get a lot stricter with my diet and exercise this year myself, shit was a bit rough at first, but it's wild how much of a difference it makes. No longer hurting and being able to walk comfortably, plus multiplicative libido increase, mhm mhm 🙏

I had some sketchy experiences with the anime fandom back in the day too tbh. Minor at the time, MANY encounters with definitely adult con attendees trying to yaoi paddle and put me into sexually charged situations, and just general "lack of consent is okay if it is a cute or funny ship" attitude. 😬

I'm probably up there by now. If it weren't for Legion pissing me off badly enough to forevermore put me off raiding in WoW retail I probably woulda been well over 20k deep into WoW by now, as it stands last I checked I'm at like 18000 cumulatively across my main main and two occasional mains.

I hope it's good. 😩 I'm reasonably hopeful because I generally like what Nomura and his team have to say with their work, so more than anything it's a matter of how they choose to say it. World is so stressful these days that I'm so looking forward to a bit of sentimental philosophical madness. 🙏

I'll be interested to see where KH4 goes, but one of my ongoing theories is that this new arc will revolve around Sora graduating from "My friends are my power" to someone who is more self-assured in his strength, and perhaps ultimately resolving with "I am strong, but my friends are my reason."

Like at the end of the first, when Sora brings Donald and Goofy back after they fall into the darkness. Symbolically, I read it as him calling upon the influence of people who have shaped him, and that influence giving him the strength he needs to conquer the antagonist, who represents nihilism.

There are definitely aspects of the KH games in terms of plot which are difficult for me as an admittedly at least somewhat jaded adult to digest, but I think I forgive that stuff because there is a lot of interesting symbolism in what transpires. Resurrection, for instance, touches on influence.
