Or in other words, "the man who does not read has no advantages over the man who can not read." That's what people mean when they say there's no difference.

010

Lucanor Giovanni @vaalgamon.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

What kind of difference are you really talking about though? Because even among highly celebrated works you'll find differences in quality. I think when people mean to say there's no difference between PKD and DCC is that there's no difference in the sense that you're still consuming literature.

I like the one movie about the people who mess with some random dude but it turns out they had no idea he's secretly a super bad ass and now he's going to make them regret everything.

Post Truth world. If he was in Atlanta it means there was a secret conspiracy between Willis and Smith and other people to craft a massive hoax against Trump. The fact that not a single word of that is true doesn't matter to the media. They will just lie over and over until people forget the truth.

Agreed. I remain opposed the same way I was opposed to every horrible technological advent of the last 20 years but I'm batting straight 0 on fights for things like digital privacy, subscription everything, and copyleft so I'm not very optimistic about this fight either.

Average across the whole world is generally favorable. US-ian Bsky will be disproportionately more anti AI than real life because that's just the nature of how online communities work. Korea is the most supportive.

Pew research graph of AI sentiment.

USA is 50% concerned, 10% excited.
Korea is 16% concerned, 22% excited.

Game dev idea bullet hell shmup but instead of bullets it's people trying to sell you car warranties, buy your house, offer you refinancing, begging for political donations, and offering free estimates for service work.

I can't wait for this scene to be adapted in the next Moana movie.

Māui's last trick led to his death and involved Hine-nui-te-pō, the goddess of death and the underworld. In an attempt to make mankind immortal by reversing the natural birth process, he transformed into a worm and entered Hine-nui-te-pō's vagina, intending to leave through her mouth while she slept. However, she was awoken by pīwakawaka (fantails) who had burst into laughter at the sight of Māui entering her vagina. Angered, Hine-nui-te-pō crushed Māui to death with the obsidian teeth in her vagina.

There's a few TOS episodes that will make you appreciate SNW a little more I feel. Namely: The Balance of Terror, The Squire of Gothos, and The Menagerie Also if you pay close attention, you can spot the first appearance of a certain SNW character in the TOS episode A Private Little War.

Julian and Ezri is clearly the worst because Julian and Garak is OTP. Thankfully Worf and Troi wasn't a thing for very long and everyone pretended it never existed afterwards.

Post anime girls in regular clothes 🥲 Always loved Tsukihime / Melty Blood fashion. In a world of fighting games where everyone is dressed like a circus act, having people in regular clothes makes you unique.

The original started out mostly with sprite rips from those games. You even got Magitek Armor Terra as a bonus pre-register character. Hopefully they can give FF Dimensions the same treatment. More people need to play that game.

Lucanor Giovanni @vaalgamon.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

I remember the first time I beat the game it was so difficult and then I find out when you get to the bottom you actually should go back up and now you need to do the remaining 99% of the game and I got a little discouraged. I did some of it but never finished it all.

Lucanor Giovanni @vaalgamon.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

That actually sounds good. Maybe I'll try it.

Lucius Sulla set the precedent, Julius Caesar ended the Republic basically immediately afterwards. Same thing is happening here, but Trump is Sulla, not Caesar. It'll be the end if we get someone with the disposition of Trump, but isn't distracted by flattery or petty bribes.
