Higurashi put me out of my typical shonen realm and gave me a better idea of what anime actually can be. Not to mention how terrifying it was. I actually felt like someone was hiding in my room watching me sleep. After a brief horror binge I looked for other popular anime and guess what came up?

A lot later I saw a Higurashi Edit on YouTube without the gore and it looked so innocent, but the comments were full of "it's funny because they end up killing each other" I was so intrigued and I really loved horror during that time, so I gave it a watch and it was a game changer.

DC: My dad bought me a German manga magazine that featured Detective Conan. I was so intrigued that I looked up the dubbed anime. I loved it so much that I even continued with subs. Even today I really like it. I just wish they focused on the main story and wrapped it up instead of milking it.

My very first anime ever was One Piece. My cousin put on an episode of the east blue saga when I was 9 and I loved every second of it. It felt WAY cooler than any other cartoon I watched back then. Now it has kind of lost its charm but the earlier arcs were very entertaining.

Just finished reading the Higurashi manga and that was insanely good. It's a shame that Ryukishi07 had to ruin his legacy by retconning everything in Gou and Sotsu. Like, the difference in writing and character development is day and night.

Ich hatte mir tatsächlich mal ein Playthrough von der ersten Episode angeschaut und ja, es war fucking furchteinflößend zum Ende hin. Aber ich hab keine Geduld dafür und so ein Manga ist halt viel visueller (mit dem Gore, hihi)
