📸 Bunker Hill Panorama, Boston MA Unintentional stitch from the top of the Bunker Hill Monument. I shot iPhone through two of the four narrow windows and only later realized I could probably stitch them together with Hugin. Worked surprisingly well, and captures […] [Original post on mas.to]

A panoramic wide-angle aerial shot captures the city skyline of Boston, Massachusetts, under a bright blue sky filled with fluffy white clouds. In the foreground, dense residential neighborhoods feature tightly packed brick and wooden buildings nestled among lush green trees. To the left, Boston Harbor opens into calm blue waters filled with boats, piers, and historic waterfront ships. On the right, modern downtown skyscrapers tower in the distance, featuring prominent architectural landmarks like the cable-stayed Leonard P. Watched Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970) for the first time. A complete surprise to me, and very engaging. Probably a pretty novel storyline for a 1970 movie too. Includes some Berkeley campus exteriors. Very ‘Moon’ like promo poster. boxd.it/1Nmw #scifi […] [Original post on mas.to]

Poster for the 1970 science fiction film “The Forbin Project.” The design features a black background with a large circular pattern of white radiating lines converging on a silhouette of a standing man. Within this silhouette is a smaller, repeated silhouette, creating a recursive effect. At the top, white text reads: “THIS IS THE DAWNING OF THE AGE OF COLOSSUS” with smaller text underneath: “(where peace is compulsory… freedom is forbidden… and Man’s greatest invention could be Man’s greatest mistake).” The film title “THE FORBIN PROJECT” appears in bold red capital letters at the bottom, followed by cast and production credits in smaller text.

2019 Heatherwick Studio designed Vessel attraction stands at 150 feet in height. Despite the reasonable $10 entry fee we decided to enjoy it from below, before heading onto The High Line. #Vessel #Architecture #NewYork #iphonephotography #structures

An upward view of “The Vessel” at Hudson Yards, New York City, showcasing its distinctive honeycomb-like design of bronzed steel and glass. The geometric structure is composed of interlocking staircases and landings, forming a spiraling, hive-like pattern. It occupies the center of a modern plaza, flanked by contemporary buildings—one with a quilted facade on the left and a sleek glass tower on the right. The sky above is clear and blue, and scattered visitors below provide scale to the monumental architecture. The angle emphasizes The Vessel’s verticality and complex symmetry.
