New meta by @peterhaehner.bsky.social et al (I'm a little middle author) on individual differences in personality change across the lifespan (229 studies, N = 230k) 10.1037/bul0000525 Cool finding (imo): For all Big Five, variance in change is greatest in youth, declining through young adulthood!
Individual differences in change for each of the Big Five across ages 0 to 80. The trend for each trait is that individual differences in change are decreasing with age.

My first PhD paper is out 🎉🐣 We examined transactions between Big Five traits and first sexual intercourse across up to 10 years and ~5,000 German adolescents. Extraversion stood out 🔄🧠 Agreeableness + openness showed interesting patterns as well Check them out here: doi.org/10.1177/0890...

Very happy to see this out now in JPSP! We used 5 datasets (N = 128K) to do a deep dive into within-person variability for long-term personality development, a metric common in short-term dynamics work but (sadly!) pretty disregarded longitudinally (1/8) psycnet.apa.org/record/2024-...

Do people become more alike across the lifespan? Is the variability of personality traits changing across time and age? In our meta-analyis on changes in personality variability, we integrated data from more than 300 longitudinal studies to answer these questions. Preprint: osf.io/yk3eh/
