There are plenty of features in the game that I never mentioned before, such as this roll up/down move which was inspired by Streets of Rage 3. 😎 #indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev #Steam #gameplay

The demo is undergoing exhaustive testing to make sure no bugs, however minor, will remain. Here's one of the battles players will find along the way. #indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev #Steam #gameplay

I've changed the promo art in Shobatsu's Steam page to a more impactful style and also to give Ritsu proper prominence. I just hope all that red won't make people believe the game contains too much violence. 😇 #illustration #indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev

Here's the new trailer for Shobatsu, showing much of the visual and technical progress that has been made since the last time. #indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev #Steam #Gameplay

I've added the option for players to throw away the special weapon, resulting in massive damage to all enemies unfortunate enough to be in its way. #indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev #Steam #Gameplay

This running animation of Mira started as just another study like many others but I decided to complete it with coloring and other finishing touches. Hopefully I can fit it into a trailer or a cutscene in the game. #animated #indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev #Steam

Combos have become a lot more satisfying to perform with a few tweaks in the code. Finally, the large variety of moves each character possesses can be chained smoothly into devastating punishments. #indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev #Steam #Gameplay

Ritsu will get one more special for the demo. It will be quite devastating against enemies but it will demand a heavy toll from the player as well. #indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev #Steam #Gameplay

Illustration of the Red Kunoichi. She might seem to be just another enemy but for me she is special as her design was the first to get fully animated and become part of the game. As a result, she set the standard for many other characters. #art #indiegame #anime #krita #Steam

Just because you have a powerful weapon in the game doesn't mean you become invincible. Some enemies are designed specifically to catch you off guard and they usually succeed in taking away your greatest advantage. #indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev #Steam #Gameplay

When surrounded by Gaki, the little fella who enjoys self-detonating, you've got to be careful. Particularly when carrying the massive machine gun that hinders your movements. #indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev #Steam #Gameplay

Hinaka is a new boss that I'm adding to the game. After making several difficult bosses I was supposed to tone down a bit since she will be one of the early ones in the game but I couldn't help myself. 😆 #indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev #Steam #Gameplay

A new powerful weapon has been added to the game. Sure I'll have to tone it down a bit but it's quite fun to mow down enemies with infinite ammo like in a Rambo movie. 😎#indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev #Steam #Gameplay

One of Ritsu's special attacks has been replaced with this move, which is significantly more dynamic and acrobatic - as a shinobi should be. #art #animation #indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev #Steam #Krita

As I work on the new demo, I'm finally focusing on improving the little details that I ignored for too long, such as the health bars. I've also added the obligatory *GO* sign after clearing an area. #indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev #Steam #Gameplay

One of the most fun dynamics in beat'em ups such as Streets of Rage 2 is having to compete with enemies for the powerful weapons that appear throughout the game. Having added this to my game now, I can say Shobatsu is feature complete👍 #indiegame #IndieGameDev #Steam #Gameplay

Once in a while I enjoy practicing animation with my favorite characters. Here's R. Dorothy Wayneright (with Pero) from the anime The Big O. #bigo #anime #fanart #animation #krita

Of all the bosses, this big guy has been the most challenging to dev so far. I had to make his size matter somehow so he had to be slow but also fearsomely strong with indefensible direct attacks and tank-like resistance. #indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev #Steam #Gameplay

Currently working on a new boss, Yukiko, and making sure she is very tough without being too annoying. It's a difficult balance to find but I think I'm getting there. #indiegame #anime #IndieGameDev #Steam #Gameplay #indieanime

Back to devving though it'll take a while before I get to the same pace as before. Thankfully Shobatsu is feature-complete and mostly lacks (a lot of) polishing. #indiegame #indieanime #IndieGameDev #Steam #Gameplay #gamedevelopment
