TITLE: Lore and you

SUBMISSION: As someone who was on the ground floor for pre-chapters 3/4 theorizing (shoutout ACDS miss yall), it is VERY funny that I'm seeing nostalgia for that era in specific. Not that it's at all bad, mind you! I have nostalgia for it too. I just feel like people forget that we were saying very silly things. We were running stock markets for knight candidates. Kris Knight was debated ad nauseam. People were out there saying things like "Noelle Main Character Syndrome" and "Papyrus Knight" with their full chest. Penumbra Phantasm wasn't outright deconfirmed. We didn't even know Carol's name yet. It was a very beautiful mess.

TITLE: I LOVE FLOWERY!

SUBMISSION: "I'm a firm believer that people royally misunderstood the end to the Flowery fight.

Yes, Flowery is the penultimate beacon of hope who embodies the power of friendship, but to me, Kris being able to defeat Omega Flowery is not indicative that The Power of Friendship is doomed to fail.

Whether it's because Kris gives us the option or not, Kris CAN lose the clash vs Omega Flowery, friendship can prevail. The fight ends in a draw regardless, and I think that's important.

I think in the end, Hope will win, the clash ending in a draw just means Kris themselves is teetering between their friends and their duty to the knight."

TITLE: Momgore Propaganda

SUBMISSION: "Asgore’s always been something of a maternal influence for me. Although a lot would say he’s a paternal figure due to the various counts of him being a “dad”, I don’t think it to be necessarily that at all in my eyes. He very obviously knows how to take care of someone when they’re not up to par (take Kris and their hot chocolate in Ch. 4 for example). The gardening and flower shop! He nurtures things to life and sustains it well! Given that, I think it poses a good case for his more “soft-hearted”/“Mom”-like influence.

What better way to start your day than him making a cup of tea for ya before coursework or shift?"

TITLE: No-Hit Community

SUBMISSION: it's a little sad how so many people in the fandom overlook the no-hit community past the biggest creators who do it. There's dozens of incredibly talented people within the space doing achievements you could never have dreamed of being possible with a ton of effort. You guys should support more people in the no hit community! Gon UT recently got the first ever DELTARUNE Ch1-5 no hit run, which is the entire game without breaks. There are dozens more amazing people just like them doing incredible feats. There's even a server for it, but I feel like that might be getting a little to into the promo side of things, so bye.

Incidentally, this is one of many Ralsei moments that prove that the prophecy isn't the entire "script" of the normal route as many think (Ralsei wouldn't be surprised by anything if it was).

SUBMISSION: Assuming that Dess is The Roaring Knight, I think it's kind of boring usually and possibly even a problem when people say that the knight is made some kinda personification of Dess' whatever or otherwise something that isn't her or controlled by her. i think it takes away her agency as a character, makes the payoff of dess as a character less satisfying, and also takes away the question of her morals. what if she's only fondly remembered because the characters were kids? what if she was a delinquent who often did questionable/bad things, but young Noelle and Kris still looked up to her because they didn't know any better?

SUBMISSION: "I feel people should be more open to the idea of UTDR AUs subverting or changing certain plot beats for the sake of story. Take TS!Underswap for instance - I feel that project greatly benefits from this; the inclusion of Flowey and multiple Temmies throws a wrench into what we expect of UnderSwap and I find that interesting. Or say for Deltarune, let’s assume Dess knight for a second - wouldn’t it be cool if in a swap or fell or whatever AU the knight reveals themselves to be someone else (granted beyond being Dess substitute in swaps)? I feel there’s potential in that over rehashing Toby’s story.

TITLE: Chapter 5 Credits

SUBMISSION: I really love the chapter 5 credits theme and Trevor Alan Gomes did such an amazing job with it. The bridge before the last part really makes me think about how far I've seen this game come since survey program and how much the characters have and will struggle, and the montage of Susie preparing Castle Town for Noelle is always so sweet. I remember seeing Noelle's door and feeling so nostalgic cause I remembered seeing that somewhere else in a fan animation (probably ripped from the ch2 files like Ralsei and Queen's). Kris walking away too, man it's so good. I'm so hyped for chapter 6 man

SUBMISSION: "I don’t want full disclosure of what happened on “That Day”.

Undertale already had a scene where you walk from A to B while characters just dump the tragic backstory on you. If deltarune did the same thing I feel it would be a little disappointing in hindsight (though I’m sure it would still be executed very well).

After all this time I don’t think anybody would fully remember it. Instead, I think we’ll get multiple characters biased re-telling of That Day and how it affected them, rather than an actual comprehensive look at it (“stories can be retold…” etc etc)"

SUBMISSION: What if the climax of Chapter 7 is a sort of lightning round with going through smaller dark worlds of various other places (Ice-Ee’s, QC’s, the locked classroom, etc.) under a time limit like The Legend of Zelda Majora’s Mask, needing to seal all of the fountains before something bad happens that causes an automatic game over (Like The Roaring or the Titans spawning idrk)

TITLE: mixed enemy battles

SUBMISSION: The fighting system in DR is really fun, but is basically unused for the most part in pacifist runs. Something I'd like to see in ch6/7 is if some unrecruitable enemy was included in generic fights alongside recruitable enemies, for example Spawn or Friendlings. Strategizing on which enemy and which party member should do what action depending on stengths and weaknesses. Fight or act with Kris to use SlayDark or higher mercy%? Or maybe rely on S/R/N-Acts that might drag out the battle for longer? Focus on fighing first or sparing first, or attempt to balance between them both?

SUBMISSION: "When people discuss Device Theory I keep thinking about how the exact thing they're describing is just Vivid/Stasis down to a T.
I mean, the premise is that game itself is a device that connects the player to the game's world. You discover an ""in-between space"" that cannot be accessed by normal means which reveals the true nature of the world. There's even a subplot involving 2 siblings searching for their missing 3rd sibling across multiple dimensions.
Conclusion: Device Theory fans should go play Vivid/Stasis. It's free and relatively short.
