Looks like a classic midwestern basement. Just need a hockey net.

I’m sure those bishops and priests who denied communion to Biden will be doing the same for Kavanaugh, Barrett, Roberts, Thomas and Alito.

I thought for a moment I could see Lumi’s breath in that second photo, but it is just his white chest spot.

Villi has been wanting to go out in the middle of the night and commune with the moose, bears and coyotes… so when he does finally does come inside at 5am he is considerate enough not to jump on the bed to wake me until our traditional 6am wake up.

It’s hard for the human to get going in the mornings when it’s dark. We don’t share that problem.

Fries are good. We hear they’re even better when dipped in raspberry milkshakes.

His indication (he’s in the advanced level and is looking for two hides that could be either birch or anise scent) is to nose the area, and then sit and look at me. This weekend he would frequently indicate on places that were no where near the hides.

Lumi is just enforcing a good Protestant work ethic. No slothfulness in your house. The rest of us wish you a speedy recovery.

It was challenging weekend of scent work for the pups. Villi has never lied so much doing this stuff, but we still got qualifying runs in about half of our attempts. Hullu was the big winner, getting his Interior Novice Title.

Better day at the office. Hullu Qd in Novice interior and container. Villi Qd in Advanced interior and container. Both NQd in exterior. We celebrated with a hike afterward.

We didn’t want to work today. Villi got a Q in advanced container, but lied hard in the two other class. Hullu go a Q in novice exterior, but pretty much didn’t work in everything else. Back at it with a different attitude and better weather tomorrow.

Supposed to do a scent work trial this morning. Currently in rain/lightning delay.

Hullu is off chasing deer, but Villi took a moment to enjoy the view.

The old lions would have lost on that 62 yard field goal.

Pie and hiking seems like a healthy way to stay sane. Looks like the crazy has been held at bay this time.

Villi got his first title in AKC Novice Obedience today. We’re not sure if we like Obedience as much as Rally, but it’s still fun.

Hullu and Villi returned to the Rally/Obedience ring today. Hullu got a Q on his first Master Rally run ever. Villi tried his hand for the first time at novice Obedience and got a Q too.

A true nose for meatballs. Scent work really is a lot of fun. All sorts of interesting puzzles for pup and handler alike.

Yeah, I’m skeptical I’m coordinated to run and pole at the same time. But it’s also ski bounding season. So I’m hopeful once my legs cooperate the poles can act as more than mere crutches and help prep for the cross county ski season.

More ugly than painful: very black and blue. And my hobbling has been balanced by some plantar fasciites in the other foot. Lots of ice and I borrowed the PEMF blanket and red laser from the horse—his hocks don’t need them as much as my legs. Got some fancy new trail running trekking poles too.

Long weekend of NQs at Barn Hunt, but Villi found all the rats and got a Q on his last run. Made everyone happy.

Time to get out the fluorescent safety vests. Fortunately it’s only archery hunting in our neck of the woods, but still.

The human tried their first running race in about twenty years. It was 24 hour relay—8 member relay team. It was really fun until it wasn’t. A sprained ankle and we’re reminded why we don’t run. Can you see where they turned their ankle and fell into the mud?

Just like most of us support data centers. Cox is a spineless moron.
