🌀💦🌨️Tropical Depression Two is in the Gulf. They get official names when they become Tropical Storms/Cyclones, and this one will be called Bertha. Tropical Storm status is reached when maximum sustained winds get to 39 mph. Impacts from this could be heavy rain/flooding along the Gulf Coast.

🌀Just issued by the NOAA National Hurricane Center. TD2 will become a Tropical Cyclone. That's winds of at least 39 mph (63 km/h). Heavy rain and flooding will likely accompany this storm. You can see it ain't gonna be movin' very quickly. That increases the flooding risk. #hurricane

⚡🌀 Quick explanation of what El Niño means for the hurricane season, (on average). Simply put, vertical wind shear is more prevalent over the Caribbean, which tends to chop off storms and can limit the number of hurricanes. We are going into El Niño conditions very soon. Source: NOAA Climate.Gov

❄️💧May Snow In Colorado! It's not that unusual. This winter has been pathetically dry around the Denver area. 7.4 inches at my station this morning. Factoring in the rain that fell before the snow, it comes to 0.96 liquid. We are still below-average on precip, so I'd like three more of these.
