When I started my nurse training (🇮🇪 1990) not only did I have to get the flu 💉. I also had to get a BCG💉before I was allowed to work on a ward & I was thankful for it; despite only ever seeing 1 TB patient. I can’t understand any nurse being vaccine hesitant. It doesn’t make a lick of sense to me.

My dad was a 70sDJ who was part of the Gallop Poll. They would ring him once a week & we would have ‘to stay quiet, daddy’s on the phone!’ He would drag us around record shops to get their list of best sellers but he was sent free vinyls, new releases & special presses; he rarely bought anything.

Just saying. In the 80/90s a group of women in a small seaside town near me, in Ireland, used to fundraise to bring children from Belarus over to us for a summer holiday. To give them a break from all the Chernobyl contamination - because Belarus got approx. 70% of the nuclear contamination.

Did you see when they read him a question from the public about them not being very Christian or charitable & he froze. He started talking, stopped mid word, & gazed away. then the studio covered for him by saying they had sound problems. He wasn’t speaking to have sound problems 😂

I’m Irish, was at work in Dublin, Ireland. I had just opened the surgery after lunch (chicken baguette & Snapple apple juice) I was pregnant & was wearing black pants with an elastic waistband, a black top & pink blazer. I’m not even American & I can remember every detail of that day.

Just last week I saw a video of a woman who was complaining about the latest book her toddler had received, for free, from The Imagination Library. She complained that it was mainly pictures, with very little words. It was an age appropriate book for a toddler.

A lot of her phone calls with her mother have been released. She’s in there using her iPad to sell video calls to men, saying things like ‘why shouldn’t they pay a lot to talk to her’. Her mother is agreeing with her, encouraging the behaviour. She thinks she’s going to be famous when she gets out.

Could be - that would definitely make sense. I live on the Woodlands estate, we’re fairly close to the mountains & get a lot of, to me, unusual critters. One night a huge badger had a stroll around our decking. It sounded like a man walking around, I scared myself silly🤣

I’ve heard & seen them here in my garden, in Abergele. It was bigger than I expected it to be but not large by any standards. I’d never even heard one in Ireland & I lived there until I was 32.

This little lady looks me dead in the eye & licks her lips when she wants a treat. Her brother Logan will sit in front of the cupboard & tap the door for treats but Jovie expects me to bring the treat to wherever she is currently sitting.

I used to be an Optical Tech. We did a lot of training on these things. The eyes are a muscle, using them doesn’t harm them. Kids eyes have the ability to focus on things a whole lot closer & a lot further than an adult can. As I said, it’s a myth that looking closely at screens/tv will do damage.

No, children’s eyes can focus that closely to a screen or tv. It’s a myth that it will damage their eyesight.

I had nightmares about The Exorcist. I had not seen The Exorcist. In my (Roman Catholic) head, it had to be the priest that everyone was afraid of & I used to have a dream that he was stood in the shadows at the bottom of our back garden, hiding in the trees😂

I used to work 7 12hour shifts in a row, Wednesday to Tuesday, I got every second weekend off & if I took a week off I was actually off for 3 weeks. People could not get their heads around the notion that week on, week off wasn’t part time.

Sorry to butt in, but I used to work for Irish Ferries. For us it was a place the boat sailed to for annual maintenance.The boat docked & a bit like a giant canal lock, the water drained leaving the boat in a large, dry, basin. Then after the work was done, it filled up again& the boat sailed home.

I’m 🇮🇪, I can remember watching Smallville with my kid. In one story arc Jonathan Kent gets elected Senator, dies, & then his wife Martha is asked to take his place. I remember thinking, surely that’s just for tv, they’d have to have another election. Seems truth is stranger than fiction.

I used to work for GPs. I was always amazed at the ability of the oldest dr to remember every pt, to the point that he would ask after their mother/father etc.even if it had been a while since he’d seen them. I did notice as the drs were newer & the tech evolved that the personal touch was lost.
