In the early 90's, I went to three performances of the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center, and saw "Bye Bye Birdie" there too. It was really a class act. I heard Schumann's Third symphony there ("Rhenish"). I'm soooo relieved that it won't stand as a monument to stupidity and cruelty.
