Policy change doesn’t happen in a vacuum—it takes strategic engagement, collaboration, and a deep understanding of the issues at hand. Vicky Brotherton from @uniofnottingham.bsky.social's Rights Lab exemplifies these qualities, playing a key role in translating research into real-world impact.👇

Today, we are showcasing Dr Alanna Higgins' current work on the intersection of food insecurity and disability in Nottingham and Glasgow. Her research highlights the systemic barriers disabled individuals face in accessing food—issues often overlooked in policy and academia. 1/2
By collaborating with community members, policymakers, and academics—including an upcoming partnership with the University of Strathclyde—I aim to identify key issues and advocate for policy changes that reflect the lived realities of disabled individuals, with potential national impact.
