I kept seeing the references to Beto and went and looked up the polling. It wasn't the same. There may be movement towards Paxton, but there is a valid reason to have hope.

Series of polls showing Beto O'Rourke trailing Ted Cruz by an average of 6.8 points in the final weeks of the campaign. Final election result was Cruz winning by 2.6 points.
