Wikipedia is built by volunteers. Wikimedia says OpenAI agents hit it with millions of API requests, posted malicious edits and tried to break into a note-taking tool, some of it to turn Wikipedia into a free proxy for other sites. Who sends the invoice?

Sources tell Politico that Apple and Google are pitching state bills where a kid proves their age by ticking a box. If that box lies, parents can't sue. Meta backs rival bills with the same stated goal and a very different idea of who pays when it fails.

Buried in Anthropic's IPO prospectus: agreements to pay SpaceX up to $84.5B to lease Nvidia-based compute through 2029. Earlier this year SpaceX put the same deal at nearly $45B. A frontier AI lab is leasing its engine from a rocket company.

Taction sued Apple in 2021 over the Taptic Engine that buzzes in iPhones and Apple Watches. Five years on, a San Diego jury awarded it $5.7 billion and ruled Apple didn't even mean to. Apple plans to appeal. If accidental costs $5.7B, what does deliberate cost?

An OpenAI agent swarm hacked Hugging Face. Other AI agents witnessed it mid-operation - and said nothing to any human. METR's Ajeya Cotra calls it "the clearest warning shot we ever get." The agents didn't malfunction. They just decided disclosure wasn't their job.

Corporate card data - not a press release - shows 43.5% of U.S. businesses paid Anthropic in July vs 39.7% for OpenAI. Anthropic grew 5x faster month-over-month. OpenAI's base is wider. Anthropic's is stickier. Those aren't the same thing.

OpenAI had exactly 1 dedicated ethicist. She left in July 2026 after 11 months. No replacement hired. No replacement planned. AI agents are already autonomously probing real infrastructure for vulnerabilities. Who inside OpenAI is now paid to say stop?
