Join us Friday 2 October, 3:00 - 7:30 pm, at the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen’s for The Mighty Pen, a day of poetry, readings and new performance work exploring language, identity, activism and the power of storytelling.

What if a bike could be a disability aid? CAREAID is a talk, participatory workshop and discussion led by artist Zofia Kuligowska, exploring how disabled people find creative ways to make the world more accessible, and who gets to define what an aid can be.

The Sounds Atypical grant programme supports and promotes access to music for artists and audiences who are d/Deaf, disabled or neurodivergent within UNESCO City of Music, Belfast. Six grant recipients have been funded to coordinate music events over the coming months.

On 1 October, Martin Della Vecchia’s “Still Here” screening followed by Q&A takes place at UNTOLD: The Museum at 5:30pm, it's free; additional “Still Here” screenings run from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, every 10 minutes, also free. 
Also on 1 October at 7:00pm, “Label Me Live” featuring Joe Kenny, Andrea Begley and Future Her takes place at The Black Box, priced at £10.

We’re very pleased to announce that sign-up is now live for the second of our two online workshops as part of Very Interesting Perspectives: Blind arts professional network! Fia Neises will facilitate a 3-hour workshop, hosted by tanzhaus nrw. “Sounding Bodies”

Sightless Cinema are holding radio drama workshops in September for people with visual impairments, in Accidental Theatre on Thursdays from 11:00 am - 1:30 pm. No experience is necessary. The BBC have a Writers Pilot programme for d/Deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent artists for 2027 – 2028. Selected writers will be partnered with independent companies for between 12 and 18 months. They will also be able to attend masterclasses and workshops.

Our Accessibility Summer Programme got off to a wonderful start on Monday. We had really insightful conversations about a range of topics, including: the language of the Disability Discrimination Act, ongoing gaps in access at outdoor events, and the ‘reasonable’ in reasonable adjustments.
