Been learning about figure painting techniques from fellow collector/geeks. Wow, what a difference it makes on studio series figures! Really takes all the glorious detail and gives it a live action movie, worn steel feel. Starting with the Tereorcons of #Transformers ROTB Scorponok/Double Punch!!

#StudioSeries PABLO! #Transformers I dig the design for this character/toy. The sculpt has so much of the necessary details but need deco to give it a screen accurate look. A fun weekend project: panel line, added paint detail & ToyHax sticker set treatment. Subtle additions make a BIG difference!

Fugitive (WASP) Waspinator #Transformers #BeastWars #TransformersAnimated I’m cool with any toy that gives me an excuse to pull out some TFA toys, take a walk down memory lane. Been waiting 15 years for this toy to exist!

#Transformers #KNOCKOFFS My first time to peruse isles o ToyFair proper & see more than just the Hasbro Fan Media event. Surprised to see knock off TFs so out in the open! NO interest in this stuff, but like driving by a car wreck on the side of a road, can’t help but look!

#TransformersCybertron Sideways on Display @hasbro #ToyFair2025 I’ll be honest, I cannot distinguish what I saw there from the original toy. Maybe the original didn’t have rocker ankles? Otherwise spot on. Of course, being a Herald of the Unicron Apocalypse makes us dig this figure even more!

I want to like this #StudioSeries toy (found today) but I just don’t. Too darn similar to #RiseOfTheBeasts Leader Primal. I’m sticking with appropriately larger Takara “Beast Awakening” Primal w/ 3P add-on kit as my definitive Apelinq.

“Who’s the smartest shark around? Sky-Byte, that’s me!” 🦈! I had to look closely to figure out whether this was just a re-issue of the original toy or a whole new figure?! 🤘 Gonna look great next to the HasLab RID Optimus Prime! #Transformers @hasbro on display at #ToyFair2025 #RobotsInDisguise

#StudioSeries Dark of the Moon Que/Wheeljack #Transformers display @hasbro #ToyFair2025 Sculpt looks nice, but wow I think the grey plastic could use a paintwash, or some kind of deco effect to help translate the plastic into looking like Bay-verse dirty metal…

Star (Convoy) Optimus Prime is The Thirteenth Prime #Transformers on display @Hasbro #ToyFair2025 Gotta admit, making it official canon that Star Convoy a fairly obscure (1991 Return of Convoy) Japanese exclusive, but highly coveted among old school collectors, now the Thirteenth Prime is genius!

Air Raid #Transformers #AgeOfThePrimes “Right, okay. Well, enjoy your vacation!” I don’t remember Air Raid playing a big of a role in old TV series. Well, besides razzing Sky Dive and Slingshot when they opt to hide out in an airline hangar! He is, nonetheless an essential member of the team!

#Transformers #AgeOfThePrimes SLINGSHOT He was always the @$$hole of the team but he did learn some lessons & get better over time! All the same, I’m glad we’re getting him right off the bat, and not Alpha Bravo! ;) He looks great in person, solid, pose-able and show accurate. A must have for me!

#AgeOfThePrimes VORTEX reveal @hasbro #ToyFair2025 In & of the toy itself, which looks AMAZING BTW. What’s really kickbutt about this reveal is that it provides confirmation that it’s only a matter of time before we’ll get reveals for Swindle, Brawl, Blast Off & presumably Commander Class Onslaught

ALCHEMIST PRIME - reveal @hasbro #ToyFair2025 Newly revealed figure looks fantastic and great to finally be getting an official (transforming) figure of the character! It’s already official canon that Maccadam of the Old Oil House is really Alchemist in disguise!
