As much as "page number go up" is a source of satisfaction, I would argue that during the editing process seeing that number go down is even more satisfying.

There are fewer greater feelings than hitting a flow state while editing text and losing track of time making a passage hit right. Whether or not I'll manage that today is debatable, but I did yesterday and it felt amazing.
