I haven’t played this album in a while. It is a thing of great beauty and a modern day folk classic. pattersondipper.bandcamp.com/album/uneart...

If you see this, post an album cover with a car (truck, motorcycle, tractor) on it.

I’m going to try and get back to posting on social media next year using this site as my main output. I was just going through my followers/following list I was just wondering what happened to Substandardnerd, is he a member of this place?

I became a grandad today so having a cheeky early pint to celebrate. It’s been a horrible twelve months so this good news is most welcome.

I’ve just heard Wheels of Steel for the first time in donkey’s. What and ace tune!

This place looks like it’s had a little tweak since I last came on here and is much more user friendly.

“Like Mike Oldfield on ketamine.” A twisted journey into the dark heart of Yuletide. I discovered Lunatraktors a few years ago at a festival and fell instantly in love with their ‘Broken Folk’ music. An album of alternative Yuletide tunes best played in the dark! ❤️ open.spotify.com/album/0yehXX...

I love a gig in a church especially one that sells beer. I’ve seen the support Rattle many times and they’re always an intense experience, the acoustics of St Mary The Virgin Shrewsbury made it more so. As for the Bill Orcutt Quartet. Mind blowing sounds made otherworldly in this beautiful space.

A great afternoon and evening spent over in Shrewsbury yesterday. Sadly all the records shops were closed when I got there but my bank balance is probably glad if it, although I had to kill some time in the pub. 🤔

I’m on a spontaneous train journey over to Shrewsbury for an evening of Bill Orcutt and his Guitar Quartet supported by the ever wonderful Rattle.

I’m proud of my town and its multiculturalism. My local is serving free (cheeky hot) samosas as part of Diwali. My rear end will be in tatters tomorrow morning but it will all be worth t. 😳

This beauty of an album turned up earlier this week and I was able to give it its first physical play this morning. A late contender for AOTY for me. I’m hoping there will some live dates for ØXN in the New Year if Radie can get some spare time from the other lot. 😆

I can’t be the only person when hearing Night Fever goes straight in to a strut, can I?

I adore this album. It has a very folk-horror film soundtrack feel to it in parts. Very fitting for this evening. open.spotify.com/album/0RQWAi...

A perfect end to a perfect weekend. Kassi Valazza and her band at the Sunflower Lounge tonight were sublime. I doubt when Kassi returns to these isles in the future she’ll be playing to a crowd of under 20 people including the sound guy on a Sunday night in Brum. She has a bright future. ❤️

I’m amazed just how good Glenn Hughes’ voice is after all these years. Cannock’s finest in dazzling form on his old stomping ground. A rare set of nostalgia banging out DP MK 3 and 4 songs and making them sound as good as ever. There was even an encore treat of Highway Star. Pure magic!

A cracking night at Nortons in Digbeth on Thursday evening watching Daoirí Farrell. I’ve been following Daoirí since I caught him opening the Sunrise Stage at Folk East in 2016 and was blown away. Finally I got to see him again with his trio. What a blast!
