Around a year ago I made my first, tentative attempts at producing acid #techno - with some 'devilish' results. Still quite happy with these tracks, though I like to think my mixes have got a little cleaner since then 😉 www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCUX...

This is probably the most 'IDM' type track I've come up with to date. Slightly freaked myself out with it at the time if I'm honest, but 'tis appropriate for the month of October anyway 😆 #techno #musicproduction www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwLU...

Friend of mine was pretty amused that I'm now apparently doing 'seasonal' #techno. You can look forward to the Christmas album.

Ambient #techno isn't something I've previously dipped my toe into as a listener, but I might have to explore a little deeper based on this. Recommended by a friend - and it's phenomenal stuff www.youtube.com/watch?v=38Ib...

New #techno track is WIP with a bit of groove/swagger; just missing that special 'something'. I feel like #musicproduction can be akin to a puzzle, searching for the solution to unlock a tune's true potential. One recent project took me 4 days to get there. But that feeling when you do? Unreal!

Shaun Of The Dead and Limmy references in the picture captions of a BBC article? Well I never. The setting of #SilentHillTownfall looks phenomenally well-realised. Loving the score by Pilotpriest too. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I agree, obviously. Would love to see more of the big names in electronic music speak out like this. Been infuriating to see some major techno/house acts endorse or launch AI music tools and initiatives recently. djmag.com/news/fred-ag...

Planning to put a couple of ominous, dark, horror-tinged tracks out next month - just in time for spooky season. Was very much inspired by this absolute beast of a tune: some of the most intense, hypnotic and atmospheric #techno I've ever heard. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6s3...

'ABANDONED TRACKS' folder is now up to 44 items. And those are projects that made it past the 'no-point-in-saving-this' cut-off. For every tune I put out there there's at least another that makes me properly cringe. But I think that's healthy. You can't learn/take risks without making mistakes.

Started working on something far more deep and minimalist than my usual output, which I'm quite liking the vibe of. Also dropped the BPM down to give it room to breathe. It's got a bit of a groove to it. Time will tell whether it comes together!

Next month might well turn into 'shit-post September' for me. I have a couple of random standalone tracks coming, one of which is a bit of a weird mix of playful and experimental. The other is basically a petulant two fingers up at the likes of Suno, and AI slop in general.

On Saturday I'll be uploading my first ever album. 11 tracks produced between February and June this year, though in some ways I feel I've been building towards it for a long, long time. This one's personal: both in terms of all the many influences, and the emotions that have gone into it.

Working on several new tracks simultaneously for the first time, which is an interesting difference to how I normally operate. Pretty experimental, and chipping away bit by bit. Not sure if they'll amount to much yet, but it's keeping things fresh for sure.

Saddens me to hear this, as it's still one of my favourite film scores to this day. As far as I'm concerned they made a stone cold classic of a soundtrack, even if it was a torturous experience in the studio. djmag.com/news/daft-pu...

As a lot of people have noted when it comes to making music, the easy part is composing things. The hard part is getting it listened to. But rather than getting bogged down in fretting over promotion and social media, I'm determined to focus on the 'fun' part of the hobby. Anything else is a bonus.
