Weird stuff! We regularly include presentational flourishes like sprite relighting/color grading, UI tweaks, and other ways of playing with the presentation of the novel beyond the 'standard' approach.

A VN screenshot of a standard message box at the bottom along with a diegetic UI above containing numerous, ominous error messages

VN screenshot including the operation of a multi-camera system with four different viewpoints.

VN screenshot including a character on a balcony at night, the sprite partially lit from behind by a warm interior

VN screenshot of two sprites standing near each other with both directional light rendering and more three-dimensional posing than the 'standard' sprite arrangement.

Gender (tm)! One of the two leads is Ash, a trans man, and a prominent supporting character (and fan favorite) is non-binary. And where do those frontiers lie in a virtual reality where anyone can be anything...?

A transmasc arctic wolf in light shorts flexes towards the camera.

A slender cat on a surreal background is embraced by masculine and feminine versions of themself.

The boys! Among many other things, UNDER | HEAVEN is a love story. A combination of dual-perspective narrative and limited choice allows for deep characterization of its protagonists as their relationship blossoms amid the hardships they face together.

The art! Oh, my god, the art. With over 30 CGs (easily 50+ with variants) and lightly-animated sequences at the time of this writing and more being added with every update, we're fortunate to have some truly excellent artists that have done amazing work.

A transmasc arctic wolf looks at his reflection, split by an opened mirror cabinet.

An arctic wolf and elk sit at a diner, reminiscing in warm lighting.

The sun sets over a verdant and idyllic forest.

An arctic wolf rests his hand on a tree, his expression inscrutable.

The world! It's cyberpunk, but nobody has guns popping out of their arms. Set in a domed city beneath the Earth, UNDER | HEAVEN focuses on the cultural and personal potential of the virtual reality of the 'Exchange' and on ordinary people caught up in extraordinary events .

A house sits in front of a vast tower underneath a solid dome.

Evening 'sunset' view of a domed, tiered city.

Surreal scene of a couch and bookshelf outdoors by a snow-covered mountain and a burning tree.

A snow leopard in business casual stands behind an elk with a blank expression seated in some sort of operations chair, gripping his shoulders uncomfortably.

Take the framework of Neuromancer and add in an eloquent exposition into gender and sexuality in a cyberpunk world. Amplify that with a slice-of-life, and a mystery to solve, and you have Under|Heaven. I love this story, but, most of all, I love this scene and what it means about identity.

Setting Sail (2018) Bit of an older one for you today, and what started my love affair with more out-there aspect ratios. One of the most annoying things about the VN is, that i've only painted 16:9 for the past few years, and it's just such a goddamn boring ratio.

Doing a little fundraising for the husband ( @wolfstar.bsky.social ) and his open heart surgery. If all goes well, he'll be back home this weekend to continue with recovery, but we'll be looking to make some changes around the house to aid in his recovery~ ko-fi.com/dynewulf/goa...

This picture was taken soon after he had his breathing tube removed, roughly 6 hours after the end of his open heart surgery on Monday. As of today, most of these tubes and cables and such have been removed, and recovery is going smoothly!

Hard to overstate: as a VN author I LOVE hearing people's thoughts and impressions The nature of the thing as a release and not a live performance is that I hit a big red button and then just kinda sit around and go 'well, I hope people liked it', getting to see people engage with it gives me life
