Oh, and the d12+d8 encounter table is made so you don’t first roll a d6 to check for encounters. You only roll the d12+d8, which is why one of the spots is a “nothing happens”. So it combines the two rolls into one. Whether that’s easier or not is very much debatable haha.

2/2 The module was released in Feb 2025, and is the first ever module I’ve written (although it’s the third one released). I totally agree with your points about keying. I’ve been actively developing a, hopefully, much clearer keying method since writing this module. Thanks again for reviewing it!

Thanks so much for reviewing Serpent’s Sanctum! Totally fair criticism throughout – and I’m glad you liked it overall! Regarding some of your thoughts: I’ve actually never played 5e haha. This was playtested in DCC. d12+d8 gives a nice flat middle of the curve. 1/2

Thank you! Oh, it’s been a long time in the making haha. I just work on a bunch of stuff at the same time. That’s a lovely way of describing it. I love the old school 70s fantasy stuff, but I also really love new modern illustration techniques and styles, so I’m glad that shows.

2/2 I totally understand why you would do as you are doing – but I completely agree that having an overlap of at least 2 judges reading each adventure would be much better. A single judge may dislike something all the others would absolutely love. And then it’s just too bad.
