Today I released "Closer to Home", a compilation of dub ambient and slow dub techno tracks. The album was mastered by Leon Bölting at @arclab_mastering on high end analog equipment. Thanks a lot to salt for the artwork photo. phelios.bandcamp.com/album/closer... #dubtechno #ambient

#electronicmusic #synthsky #808day #roland Is it 808 day again already? It seems to come around sooner each year. Feels like we’ve only just taken the decorations down from last year. This is a sweet deal though 👌 youtu.be/4xvA4gtgI0s

Our Analog RYTM has had something rattling around inside from new. Perhaps I ought to open it up and check. Good advice, thank you!

I hope you get it. I had it before when I subscribed for a year. It’s the most authentic emulation I’ve tried 🤞

Sold the Syntakt for similar reasons a few months ago. Prefer the RYTM for the performance features. It’s a great box though and it is missed at times. Especially those extra LFOs.

#dubtechno #elektron #bandcamp Really enjoying listening to Xanadu Terrain, the new Dub Techno album by @re-fraction.bsky.social. It’s deep, hectic and mesmerising. Just how I like it 👌🎧

The RYTM and A4👌 The A4 in particular. It’s a real workhorse capable of complete tracks with just four voices. The perfect-fifth sub osc tuning is essential here.

#elektron #dubtechno Andreas Roet has released a fantastic Dub Techno sound pack for Elektron Analog Four. It makes great use of the A4’s perfect fifth sub osc tuning which make it a chord stab powerhouse! The pack even has performance macros already set up. technosupps.gumroad.com/l/analog-dub...

Between that and Ableton crashing, it’s not been a great week.

100

Unbalanced.Studio @unbalancedstudio.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

Yes it’s really fantastic. It has phenomenal low end and is great fun to use. I’m finding mine has a lot of noise on the delay though sadly. Waiting to hear back from Dubreq if I’ll need to return it 🤔

100

Unbalanced.Studio @unbalancedstudio.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

Sadly Dubreq haven’t produced a pdf manual. There’s a paper document that comes with the unit but that doesn’t mention osc1 being silent when hard sync is engaged.

000

Unbalanced.Studio @unbalancedstudio.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

Yes osc2 always slaves. All other mods disabled. Engaging hard sync kills osc1 completely.

000

Unbalanced.Studio @unbalancedstudio.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

I really wanted to combine it with Erica Synths Bassline but that doesn't have a VCA input. It works well on the filter input too but VCA will achieve a better side-chain effect.

010

Unbalanced.Studio @unbalancedstudio.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

It's really great but needs a synth with a VCA input or a separate VCA module for best results.

Heads up for users of Ableton Live 11 on Mac. A serious issue with version 11.3.4 released last week causes Ableton to crash with some audio interfaces. Both of mine are affected (Arturia 16 Rig and MOTU M4). I reported the issue to Ableton this morning and they are working on a fix. #Ableton

Unbalanced.Studio @unbalancedstudio.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

Cheers. Think mine has an issue with the delay then. Noticeable white noise even at low amounts.

100

Unbalanced.Studio @unbalancedstudio.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

That’s awesome! Great track. Do you know if the two individual outputs are line level or eurorack? Was that the onboard delay in use there? Mine seems pretty noisy. Not sure whether to return it.

110

Unbalanced.Studio @unbalancedstudio.bsky.social · 25/01/2025

That looks awesome! Suitably sci-fi 👌🛸👽

Unbalanced.Studio @unbalancedstudio.bsky.social · 24/01/2025

So useful for drone and ambient stuff as well as underpinning anything else really.

010

Unbalanced.Studio @unbalancedstudio.bsky.social · 24/01/2025

It’s brilliant. The fx and Knob quality was the only let down for me. Those oscillators and filters can create such a deep heavy sound. I’ve been enjoying putting the two separate outputs through various plugins. Hours of fun.
