Paladin 2 realizes that paladin 1 is about to murder kids and while he himself has no opinion on ghouls he wouldn't allow murder of children. Paladin 2 kills paladin 1 who's truly baffled by this decision.

And I could tell some of the kids had no idea what was going on. And this one ghoul boy just stares at the paladins. He definitely knows what's coming and sees no point in begging someone who doesn't believe he's human. A supervisor shows up at this point and begs paladin 1 to reconsider.

Most of the kids are human, some are ghouls. The code of the brotherhood of steel is clear that ghouls are abominations that must be destroyed (some paladins are more zealous on it than others). So paladin 1 tells the kids to separate into 2 groups: human and ghoul.

Fallout TV show is so good, man. I can't get this one scene from s2ep2 out of my head. I would not consider it a spoiler but it does feature racism towards kids. Two paladins from the Brotherhood of steel find a Nuca Cola workshop where kids work. Their supervisor is the only adult here. #fallout
