#27 Silent Hill f (Game) (PC) (2025) Phenomenal writing and absolutely as good as the first 3 Silent Hill games which I already hold in such high regard. Best Silent Hill combat and it's pretty fun. Do wish there was more enemy variety especially with the minibosses but thats it

#26 Hollow Knight: Silksong (Game) (PC) (2025) Really good first half, weak and frustrating as shit second half. Overall HK is way better. The movement and tools are really fun but the charm system was way better than crests. Progression feels even worse cause high difficulty

#25 Dexter: Resurrection (TV Show) (2025) A fantastic Dexter season and an excellent follow up to New Blood. Did a whole lot for Dexter's character too which I feel could be explored even further for potential future seasons as well as Harrison and other characters

#24 Vinland Saga (Manga) (2005-2025) I only just found out that this ended which came as a great shock. Unfortunately it's a very rushed bare minimum ending. Thematically it's still really good it just stumbles on portraying those themes really well right at the finish line

#22 Mr. Robot (TV Show) (2015-2019) I can't believe this went under my radar for so long. This is now possibly my favorite TV Show of all time cause of how incredible the storytelling of the main character is. Never seen *that* disorder portrayed so perfectly.

#21 Squid Game Season 3 (TV Show) (2025) This whole season is just cruel and depressing and the ending was not good or conclusive enough to make it worth it. Constantly frustrating to watch cause of bad writing and characters making stupid decisions. All the VIPs should've died.

#20 Lies of P: Overture (Game) (PC) (2025) Great. I think this is the best story ever told in a soulslike. Usually I'm not invested like this. Fromsoft only beats it in overall vibes. Loved the gunblade and shotgun legion arm. Could've been a little harder. Didn't expect to first try some bosses.

#19.5 Lies of P (Replay) (Game) (2023) Idk why I didn't like this as much when I first played it. I was wrong. It rivals fromsoft hard. Replayed with Motivity build and the game is easier than I remembered though maybe I was just bad. Got the Rise of P ending (first time I got puppet string ending)

#19 Dexter: Original Sin (TV Show) (2024) I wouldn't put it in my top 5 Dexter seasons but it was pretty good. Patrick Gibson does a great job playing a young Dexter. The rest of the cast felt jarring mainly Deb and Harry but I got used to it after a while.

#17 Dexter: New Blood (TV Show) (2021) Great. One of the best seasons. Just like the Dexter finale I think a lot of people over exaggerate the "bad ending". Dexter suffered from bad execution over the whole season while this is just slightly rushed. Excited for Resurrection

#16.5 Dexter (Rewatch) (TV Show) (2006-2013) All kinds of sloppy writing everywhere especially after season 4 but I still think it can be really good and entertaining despite its stupid ending. Dexter is just such a good character through acting and the themes he portrays S4>S2>S6>S1>S5>S3>S7>S8

Devil May Cry (TV Show) (2025) This was so ass. Lady got more screentime than Dante and then they butchered her character. Lots of inconsistencies and bad writing. They should've just followed the source material cause that had a way better story than this.

High rank isn't any different unless you're fighting 5 star or tempered fights. World has higher numbers on everything across the board in low rank. Even tobi kadachi can take you out in one hit if you aren't careful and he stuns you very often

I fought tempered Arkveld and he wasn't even close to this fight. This is the only time I spend over 20 minutes in a hunt, something which is really common in World. The problem is that's this is the only hard fight in the game currently. Hopefully title updates and Master Rank alleviates that

Just did the hardest fight in the game currently. In contrast to every other fight in the game I was desperate to get wound breaks. So this is more of a number issue than anything, they just need to buff the stats of high rank monsters to at least tempered level.

I didn't see these issues at first but I started to notice that I wasn't that engaged in the endgame. This really sucks cause the gameplay is so good but the balancing kills it. Made me want to go back and play GU instead of endgame grinding since I haven't played that and it's more engaging

Hunted a Rathian and only for brief moments it felt like I was hunting a Rathian. Only at the start and end of the fight and the end of the fight was like 30 seconds cause I did so much damage in the middle of the fight by just playing normally. This definitely needs a full balance pass

I think this is why I'm starting to be less engaged hunting monsters in Wilds. The wound system trivializes a lot of fights. I think it's massively overtuned to where in the middle of the hunt you're just popping off wounds left and right and shredding the monster. I hope they balance this better

I just hunted a high rank Rathalos in World, Rise, and Wilds. World was by far the hardest and most engaging. Rise and Wilds were similarly easy but in different ways. In Rise the Rathalos' moveset isn't threatening at all. In Wilds his moveset is threatening but the wound system stunlocks him

I think the story is way more interesting and I love how slow it takes it cause you'll be grinding high rank materials for hundreds of hours in no time so this is a great opportunity to just chill with the game. Difficulty is about the same as World and harder than Rise so I don't get that complaint

#12 Ys I Chronicles (Game) (PC) (2009) Shortest JRPG I've ever played (beat it in a day). I like the music and the silly bump combat. Final boss was so abysmally difficult it knocks a full point off the rating. Had to repeatedly pause and unpause to beat that fucker.

#10 Tales of Graces F (Game) (PS5) (2009) My second Tales game and I'm actually surprised with how good the story is. I was worried Berseria set the bar too high storywise but I thought this was pretty close. Epilogue made the ending way better. Still don't like the gameplay that much but it's okay

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake (Game) (PS5) (2024) Dragon Quest goated as always. There's a lot here that's surprising for a game that originally came out in 1988-you can see why it was so influential. Lots of modern enhancements that making playing it as much as a breeze as DQ11

I mean yeah there's also managing your resources in dungeons which also saves valuable days on the calendar. The boss fights is where combat really shines and you don't even have to do a lot of enemy encounters you just need the right personas, strategy, and a bit of luck to get through the bosses.

I think it's just harder to make turn based really good. Dragon Quest for example is simplicity refined to the max. Atlus is also great at forcing you to strategize constantly. These are games refined throughout dozens of entries whereas RGG is just getting their footing in turn based and it shows

#5 Granblue Fantasy: Relink (Game) (PC) (2024) My interest in this series has gone way up. I think if this was a full JRPG that assumed no prior knowledge of the world and characters it would be one of the best games ever but at least there is a full Monster Hunter game to play after the credits.

#4 Final Fantasy IX (Game) (PSX) (2000) The best Final Fantasy game (even though it's not my favorite). Immaculate pacing, especially at the start. Characters and themes are so spot on. If this had a full faithful remake that looked similar to Memoria Project this would be my favorite Final Fantasy

They actually do have that item but I was only able to use 3 of them during the final boss. That was the only fun fight in the entire game.
