How many different "states" can one get an RPG battle into? What kinds of dynamics can appear and what would those dynamics mean for the characters involved? It's an interesting thought. Good work!

I liked being able to spot that this would happen by IDing that the overall "MP pool" between both characters was limited - the mana heal only siphons from Narja, rather than restoring any, so *eventually* it'll run out. This is a neat kind of "puzzle" to pick apart

i mean i figured as much, really neat! I've been exhausted lately and am only just now getting caught up with the last couple sketches, so my thoughts on this one aren't super deep, but I ended up getting the "beat the tar out of your adopted daughter with your bare hands" ending

When only given two overworld sprites to work with, and enemy positions that are hard to remember due to the simplicity and repetition of the maze they're housed in, it became very difficult for me to map out where I would need to go and when

Nevertheless, the problem-solving space this one presents is really neat? I feel like a smaller number of dragons - or a noticeably smaller number of *types* - and a somewhat less complicated-feeling maze would lighten the mental load a lot

I like the dynamic the dragon collection presents. I think there's a missing ingredient here in the way they're exchanged and the process of building your party back up, but I struggle to quite define it

I found the labyrinth here really tricky to navigate - which makes sense, it loops horizontally and so it's hard to anchor yourself in one spot or another. Possibly too much so? But that's a matter of taste (and I may also just be tired).

but also this specific mechanic can potentially create awkward skill gaps based on the player's ability to do mental math, since it's an ability that players will carry *into* the game rather than one they forge within the game not that this is bad it's just a lot harder to balance for lol

my somewhat mean opinion of this is that many designers tended towards encounters that players did not need to think about because the designers didn't want to think about them either, and so a lot of the mechanics like this that created friction were often not *especially* well-utilized?
