June reads 10/10 💙📚 #booksky D.L. Jennings - Days of the dark ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Days of the dark is the third and last instalment in the Highglade series and brings the epic to an end. .

The cover of the book Days of the dark showing a dark cave with a large green blue glooming Statue. A small person holding a torch in front of it

June reads 8/10 💙📚 #booksky N.K. Jemisin - The fifth season ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing I've seen this book all over and it gets recommended a lot for being different and edgy. And it certainly does not disappoint.

June reads 7/10 💙📚 #booksky Valerie Perrin - Fresh water for flowers ⭐⭐⭐⭐ To say this book is beautifully written, is an understatement. It is gorgeous and calm and heartwarming while at the same time stubborn, sad and sometimes cruel. Fresh water for flowers is slow, and if you are a reader

June reads 5/10 💙📚 #booksky Maggie Stiefvater - Greywaren ⭐⭐⭐⭐ And there it is, the ending. Greywaren closes the chapter on the dreamers and their dreams in a good (but a little rushed?) way.

The cover of the book Greywaren showing three eerie looking black wolves with fiery eyes

June reads 4/10 💙📚 #booksky Michael Crichton - Jurassic park ⭐⭐⭐ This pretty much reads like the movie! I guess everyone knows the story - an ultrarich man gets lots of investors and buys both an island, lots of amber and hires scientists to re-create dinosaurs to make a theme park.

June reads 3/10 💙📚 #booksky Florence Knapp - The names ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Names tries a new twist on the storytelling of domestic-abuse and I rather liked the thoughts behind it. Cora and her daughter Maia are on her way to the registry to name the tiny babyboy of the family.

June reads 1/10 💙📚 #booksky Christopher Buehlman - Between two fires ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was excellent - medieval horror with grimdark fantasy-ish vibes. You get gore, the most grueling creatures, all horrible descriptions of medieval illnesses and more.

Good morning 🌞 It is to be very warm again, even my little desert-animal, aka cat, does not want to stay outside. So I secured coffee and start reading Madeline Millers Circe which has been on my TBR for 8 years 📚💙

A book, Circe, lying on a black table. Beside it a cup of black coffee and a small vase with dried flowers

April reads 12/12 💙📚 #booksky C.S. Pacat - Kings rising ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I think I just have something in my eye 😭 What a great ending for this fabulous romantasy trilogy. The third and last instalment brings forth all the secrets and conflicts that build up through the two previous books.

The cover of the book Kings rising showing a blond lighthaired man in a blue uniform wearing a crown being embraced by a darkhaired young man wearing a red uniform and a golden laurel crown

April reads 9/12 💙📚 #booksky Luke Tarzian - The world-maker parable ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ok, I get why there is wine recommended with this (I have a feeling that is the case with other books by this author as well). This short novella is an acquired taste, punchy at times,

April reads 8/12 💙📚 #booksky Barbara Kingsolver - Demon Copperhead ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gosh, what a story. This book has lots of difficult themes, among them violence, child abuse, drugs and lots of emotional trauma. Our main character is Demon (actually Damon, but yeah) Copperhead,

April reads 7/12 💙📚 #booksky C.G.Drews - Don't let the forest in ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Help! Anybody read this book??? This is labeled YA horror fantasy and you get that, alright. Andrew, twinsister Dawn and best friend Thomas are attending a fancy high school full of snobs.

The cover of the book Don't let the forest in showing a painting of a young man. With large slices dragged over the face, vines and roses growing out of it

April reads 6/12 💙📚 #booksky C.S. Pacat - Prince's gambit ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Alright, this is getting really good. And THIS is how a slow burn is done! The second instalment in the Captive Prince trilogy is more of the court drama, more of the political ugliness inside a cruel country,

April reads 5/12 💙📚 #booksky Leigh Bardugo - Ninth house ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well, this was great! Ninth house is labeled dark fantasy horror but I would blend in crime as well and what a great blend it is.

April reads 4/12 💙📚 #booksky Sarah J Maas - A court of thorn and roses ⭐⭐⭐ Listened to as an audiobook. This one got me out of a massive reading slump and deserves the praise it gets to engage new readers. Looking forward to new books in the series later this year

April reads 3/12 💙📚 #booksky Maggie Stiefvater - Mister Impossible ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is a bit different than what I expected but in a rather positive way. The book starts rather confusing and would it have been another author I might have given up on the book. But it makes actually sense in the end.

April reads 2/12 💙📚 #booksky Jodi Picoult - Picture perfect ⭐⭐⭐ 2,5 rounded up. This is the first book by Picoult that I wouldn't recommend. The story of Cassie, an anthropologist who met her A-list Hollywood star husband on a dig and ends up in an abusive marriage,

April reads 1/12 💙📚 #booksky Richard Osman - The last devil to die ⭐⭐⭐⭐ As always, those retired guys are a hoot! A new murder, the mystery of where a bunch of heroin is and why antique dealers are all muddled up in it pretty much sums up the main story our Thursday murder club is bringing.
