High river levels overnight may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible from overnight on Friday 02 October . Rising river levels tonight may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible on 02 and 03 October 2026 following heavy rain this evening. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers Ehen, Calder, Irt, Esk and other watercourses from Harrington to Annaside including low lying areas around Whitehaven, Cleator Moor, Egremont, Gosforth, Eskdale and Bootle. We are closely monitoring the situation and clearing blockages from debris screens. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 9:30AM on Saturday 03 October or as the situation changes.

High tides this evening may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of high tides on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.  Areas particularly at risk include Torbay, Teignmouth, Beesands, Torcross, Slapton and Dawlish. Locations most affected will be coastal roads and footpaths. The high tide at Teignmouth on Tuesday evening is at 9:15pm, times of high water will vary along the coast. The forecast total high tide level is 2.62mAOD, which is 0.43 metres above tide table level. Strong force 5-6, south easterly winds and offshore wave heights of over 1m are forecast over the high tide. Similar coastal conditions are expected for Wednesday morning's high tide at 9:30am, with a slightly lower tide level.  We are closely monitoring the situation .  Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water .  This message will be updated by 3:00PM on 30 September 2026 or as the situation changes.

The high tide at Ilfracombe on Tuesday evening is at 20:30, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 5.09mAOD, which is 0.47 metres above tide table level. Higher than normal tides today may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible either side of high water, which is at 9:45 PM on 29 September 2026  Spring tides are forecast to peak above the level published in tide tables due to additional surge. The forecast high water is 9:45 PM on Tuesday 29 September 2026 with a level of 7.46 mAOD and a Force 5 South-easterly wind. Areas most at risk include the tidal River Avon from Sea Mills to Conham in Bristol and between the Avonmouth Bridge and Shirehampton Park including Pill and Shirehampton.  We are checking flood defences .  Avoid beaches and coastal promenades, which may be flooded .  This message will be updated by 9:00AM on 30 September 2026 or as the situation changes.

The high tide today at Padstow is at 19:50, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 4.45mAOD. Expect tide levels along the coast to be between 0.5 and 0.6 metres above tide table level. Strong force 6 Southerly winds and offshore wave heights of over 1.7m are forecast over the high tide. High tide at Plymouth on Tuesday is at 20:22 and Wednesday at 08:40, times will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide levels are 2.85 and 2.66mAOD. Expect tide levels along the coast between 0.42 & 0.47 metres above tide table level. Strong force 5-6 SE winds and offshore wave heights of over 2-3m are forecast over high tide. The forecast total high tide at Plymouth on Tuesday is 2.85m at 20:22 and on Wednesday the forecast total high tide is 2.66m at 08:40. Times of high water will vary along the coast. Expect tide levels along the coast to be between 0.42 and 0.47 metres above tide table level. A strong, force 6, southeast to southerly wind and offshore wave heights of over 2m are forecast. High tides and forecast weather conditions this evening may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of the high tide on 29/09/2026  Locations most affected will be coastal roads and footpaths. Areas particularly at risk include Mousehole, Newlyn, Penzance, Longrock, Marazion, Praa Sands and Porthleven harbour. The high tide at Newlyn on Tuesday is at 19:09, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 3.11 mAOD. Expect tide levels along the coast to be between 0.42 and 0.47 metres above tide table level. Near gale Force 7 southerly winds and offshore wave heights of over 3m are forecast over the high tide. High tides this evening may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of high tide on Tuesday evening (today) at 19:33.  Areas particularly at risk include low lying coastal communities including Cadgwith and Coverack, Porthallow, the tidal Helford Estuary, Maenporth and Swanpool, St.Mawes, East Portholland, Gorran Haven, Portmellon, Mevagissey, Pentewan and Par. The high tide at Falmouth on Tuesday is at 19:33, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 2.68mAOD. Expect tide levels along the coast to be between 0.42 and 0.47 metres above tide table level. The Strood at Mersea Island, Coast Road and car parks on the front at West Mersea, and the Hythe and Promenade at Maldon may be flooded. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at Clacton of 2.73mAODN at 1:15pm, on Tuesday 29th September, which is 0.15m above tide tables, Wind Force 4, Easterly. High tides today may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on 29/09/2026.  The forecast high tide at Richmond is 4.63 mAOD at 5:00 PM on 29/09/2026. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Putney Embankment (SW15), Chiswick Mall and Strand on the Green (W4), Thames Bank at Mortlake (SW14), Ranelagh Drive (TW1), Friars Lane and Water Lane (TW9), Riverside and The Embankment at Twickenham, and the Towpath below Teddington Lock. Flooding of properties is not expected. Astronomical tide levels are falling. The river flow at Teddington Weir is 4 cubic metres per second and is steady.
