Boeing 737: From the JT8D to the MAX – Six Decades of Evolution
Few aircraft have had such a profound influence on commercial aviation as the Boeing 737. What began in the 1960s as a relatively small twin-engined jet designed for short-haul routes has developed through several generations into one of the most recognisable and successful airliner families in aviation history. The 737 has changed enormously since the first aircraft took to the skies, with new engines, larger wings, digital flight decks, greater range and increased passenger capacity.

NATS report reveals one-millisecond software defect behind September air traffic chaos
A previously unknown software defect with an exposure window of just around one millisecond was responsible for the major National Airspace System failure that caused widespread disruption across UK aviation on 8 September, according to a preliminary investigation by NATS. The report, published on 16th of September, reveals how a highly specific sequence of events corrupted flight data within the NATS National Airspace System (NAS), eventually forcing London Area Control (LAC) to operate using fallback procedures and triggering severe restrictions on flights across the UK.

That default has broken. UK travellers' aversion to flights involving a Middle Eastern carrier is no longer an esoteric booking quirk; it is now an identifiable trend affecting who flies where, which airlines win capacity, and how Britain connects with Asia.

Heathrow’s terminal access re-opens following flooding incident
Heathrow Airport (LHR/EGLL) has reopened roads serving Terminals 2 and 3 after flooding caused significant disruption for passengers during one of the busiest periods of the summer getaway. The flooding affected the airport's central terminal area on Saturday, 15th of August, temporarily preventing passengers from reaching or leaving Terminals 2 and 3 by road. The incident is understood to have been caused by a burst water main beneath Inner Ring Road West, rather than heavy rainfall, with water forcing the closure of roads serving the two terminals.

Eve Air eVTOL hits milestone with first partial transition flight
Eve Air Mobility has announced that it has reached a milestone in its eVTOL programme with the first partial transition flight advancing the aircraft towards wing-borne flight. During the test flight the rear pusher prop was activated propelling the electrical vertical take off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft forward towards traditional winged flight. The aircraft reached a stabilised forward speed of 27 knots with a groundspeed maximum of 30 knots which meant lift was still being created by the lift motors rather than the wings but is a major step to prove the technology.
