Last thought. Reframe “voting with your dollar” from just “if I’m not happy I won’t buy it” to “if I DO buy it, I support it”. Finally, consider where you spend your time. If it’s free, you probably ARE the dollar. Your time spent is a vote, because your attention often inherently generates income. I just want to encourage people to be a little more aware of whether or not they “need it.”

The only language market movers speak is money. What do you tell them with your money? What are you voting for? Every. Single. Dollar. Again, I’m not perfect either. But please think twice, or three times, about whether you really want to support whatever actions your dollar will be used for.

At the end of the day, the people who are paying the bill of the import taxes are the producers. Yes, they pass them on to the consumers through increased costs. But by buying the product at an increased rate you are establishing that you are satisfied with those costs being passed on to you.

People were annoyed when Nintendo said “consumers got what they paid for” as though that’s anything but strictly true. If the price factored in increased import costs, and you bought it anyway… ‘grats. you just voted for tariffs. You said “I’m okay with the price being higher. Lay it on me.”

I’ll be the for to say I’m not perfect, but after reading some online gripes about tariff refunds, I figured I’d throw my hot 2 cents into the ring. You vote with your dollar. Every dollar. Every dollar you spend is in support of the action, movement, and agenda that the producer supports.

While it would be reasonable to assume that our system encourages competition- allowing for sturdy electromechanical alternatives to chips to re enter the market- it has been shown time and time again that it’s much easier for “innovators” to undercut competitors at a loss using startup finances.

Computers are in EVERYTHING. And while not every embedded system requires high end ram or a lot of memory, it’s not hard to imagine that a shortage of equipment and components will jack up the price of healthcare, transportation, groceries, home ownership and who knows what else.
