De gemeente Den Haag mag fossiele reclames in de buitenruimte blijven verbieden. De voorzieningenrechter heeft alle bezwaren van reisorganisaties afgewezen.ppDen Haag is de eerste stad in Nederland die zon verbod invoerde. Sinds 1 januari zijn er geen fossiele reclames in bushokjes of op straat meer te zien. Het gaat bijvoorbeeld om reclames voor vliegreizen en cruisevakanties. De reisbranche was het niet eens met het verbod en spande een kort geding aan, schrijft Omroep West.ppVolgens de Algemene Nederlandse Vereniging van Reisondernemingen ANVR en reisorganisatie TUI heeft de luchtvaart nauwelijks invloed op de luchtkwaliteit in Den Haag en is een lokaal verbod op fossiele reclames daarom niet zinvol. Ook vonden ze het verbod in strijd met de vrijheid van meningsuiting en de vrijheid van ondernemerschap.ph2Duurzame mijlpaalh2pDe rechter oordeelt dat de gemeente bevoegd is om zon verbod op te leggen en vindt de argumenten van Den Haag voldoende onderbouwd. Dat de bijdrage van het verbod op landelijk en wereldwijd niveau gering is, doet daar niet aan af, aldus de rechter.ppDe gemeente Den Haag is tevreden. Wethouder Robert Barker noemt de uitspraak een duurzame mijlpaal. Deze uitspraak laat zien dat gemeenten niet machteloos zijn, maar wel degelijk instrumenten hebben om de klimaatcrisis aan te pakken, aldus Barker.ppDe ANVR laat in een reactie weten teleurgesteld te zijn en overweegt een hoger beroep.p
