A housing voucher only helps if a family can use it. Research finds that 20–40% of HCV recipients never successfully lease a home. A new report explores “cash on-ramps” to help cover upfront housing-search costs and improve voucher utilization.

New research on LA Mobility Wallet finds flexible transportation can better meet the needs of low-income travelers than transit subsidies alone. Participants reported ⬆️ travel, ⬇️ financial stress, 🔗 stronger social connections, and 💛 improved well-being.

Upzoning for Opportunity: Evaluating Feasibility of Low-Rise Multifamily in California’s High-Resource Single-Family Neighborhoods
This report evaluates an Our Future Los Angeles proposal that would allow developers to build five to 10 units on parcels with single-family houses in higher-opportunity neighborhoods throughout California. It also mandates that developers include affordable units or pay an in-lieu fee.
