We are sad to learn of the passing of the Very Rev. Dr. Bruce McLeod. Bruce was a generous man, an eloquent preacher, and was unafraid of challenging the church. We're grateful for his voice on many issues and for the hope he had for our church. Our prayers are with his wife Joyce and his family.

Supporting our church's unique, Spirit-filled ministries is a blessing. Today, as we begin our 2nd century, we give thanks for the beauty of Union and honour the gifts each denomination brought to it, and which each member and community of faith still bring. These gifts proclaim the glory of God!

The elements that make a [community food garden] project like this successful include volunteer elements, financial elements and farm management expertise. It's Global Accessibility Awareness Day! Last month, the Rev. Dan Hayward joined us to discuss his own experience as a disabled person in the church. He urged us to consider that overcoming barriers of attitude is just as important as removing physical barriers to entry in our church buildings.
We need to remember that two people with disabilities, even the same disability, may have completely different accessibility needs. Accessibility goes beyond allowing disabled people to enter the building.
Barriers of attitude can make a fully accessible church building unwelcoming to disabled people.
