Lee has trained hundreds of K-12 educators during her 18 years in the Education Dept. at UCLA. But the innovative social justice pedagogy and off-campus programs she has developed have repeatedly been cancelled for political reasons. As a result, her appointment has been reduced by nearly 50%.

Reiterman is a scholar of the ancient Mediterranean and has taught hundreds of student in multiple departments at UCSC. But when she learned that she was earning less than her TA, she quit. “Can you imagine the insult of being paid less than your assistant who graduated with a BA just months prior?”
