I about a week I will audition for Hamlet. If I do not get cast as Hamlet, I am not sure which role is second-most desirable. Claudius is the second most prominent and prestigious, but I do not know if he is my personal second choice.

Making progress on reclaiming the lawns. I will never manicure a lawn but grief and executive dysfunction made mowing large swaths of it impossible for a season. I am now close to cutting down the remaining overgrown patches at last. Thinking o planting wildlowers to have less to mow.

I am, however, down almost 15 pounds since mid-June. the full goal is probably around 20, but we will see how it goes. i am approaching late college weight or the first time since those days. All cardio and calorie deficits.

Frank was in fact the villain of Rocky Horror. Not a good guy. But that is the point. I see many people trying to rationalize what he did, but the essence is not what he did, its the style, the presence people celebrate. You don't need to make him the good guy. He was the charismatic villain.

I was within 15 feet of Tim Curry once. I was with a travel group who waited outside a broadway theatre for him to exit. I didn't want to crowd the man, but as I was leaving I heard the yelling, turned around, and saw him open the back door and say "Hello!" to the crowd. Not an ounce of pretention.

I have lost 12 pounds since mid-June as part of my "More Slimmeth for Shakespeare" plan. (Wherein my goal has been to lose a certain amount of weight by the time i try out for the annual Shakespeare show the local theatre does, which I have been in for several years.)

It is not the easiest nor most natural place for many creatives, but I have found we have no choice: the first duty in great art is carving out something that fully matches your feelings and heart in proper scope. Others will either like it or ignore it, but they like or ignore authentic you.

Last week I saw Rocky Horror Picture Show 7 times in 8 evenings...as part of rehearsing the sound board for a shadowcast. I'm not especially liberated sexually, as I was ok in that regard. But I admit after the crowd, there has been a certain lingering emotional liberation from being involved.

Last night, after a week of rehearsing, I ran a sound board for the first time...a shadow cast of Rocky Horror Picture Show. I liked it, but i was a nervous wreck, and will not do anything else in a booth again...WAY too stressful! But it was fun to help.
