I have wrangled MANY bats & other wildlife, in my time.

Tyra Penn @tyrapenn.bsky.social · 16/08/2026
We get bats in the house almost every summer. Sometimes our cats successfully murder them in the night, which leads to a) getting them rabies boosters and b) getting the bat corpses sent in for testing.

“One by one the bulbs burned out, like long lives come to their expected ends. Then there was a dark house made once of time, made now of weather, and harder to find; impossible to find and not even as easy to dream of as when it was alight. Stories last longer: but only by becoming only stories."

Totally gutted to learn that John Crowley died over the weekend. He was my favorite author, and graciously both gave me permission to adapt some of his prose as part of my first record, which was based on his great novel "Little, Big"; and contributed a blurb to the liner notes. R.I.P., John.
