Join our community call today at 5pm CEST, 11am ET to hear about our current and future plans, to learn more about planned changes to math, and to get your questions answered by the team. (we also released Typst 0.15.1 with some bugfixes today, so it's a busy day)

And a single PDF document exported by Typst can now comply with multiple PDF standards. Optimize for long-term storage (e.g. PDF/A-2a) and universal accessibility (PDF/UA-1) at the same time.

Documents can now also contain more than one bibliography: You can create bibliographies by chapter or, using multiple reference files, by topic. You can also use selectors to customize which reference goes where.
Document with an infobox. Citations in the infobox are collected into their own bibliography in the box, outside citations into the bibliography at the end. Next, a file tree with a references folder with normative.bib and informative.yaml files within.

But typeface design is not the only thing you can have more of. With the new, experimental bundle export, a single Typst file can produce multiple output files. Use this to build your website from a single Typst project.

We added support for variable fonts: Using a variable font, you can customize weight, stretch, and more of a typeface design beyond what presets fonts usually come with. We also added many variable fonts to our web app.
Rendering of the letter A, ranging from weight 200 to weight 900, with weight increasing in increments of 7. Below, an autocomplete entry with the name "Mona Sans" and the description "Variable. Weight 200–900. Strech 75%–125%. Has italics. Supports optical sizing."

Microsoft has shared additional details on the outage:
Critical
Azure Portal Access Issues

Starting at approximately 16:00 UTC, we began experiencing Azure Front Door issues resulting in a loss of availability of some services. In addition. customers may experience issues accessing the Azure Portal. Customers can attempt to use programmatic methods (PowerShell, CLI, etc.) to access/utilize resources if they are unable to access the portal directly. We have failed the portal away from Azure Front Door (AFD) to attempt to mitigate the portal access issues and are continuing to assess the situation.
We are actively assessing failover options of internal services from our AFD infrastructure. Our investigation into the contributing factors and additional recovery workstreams continues. More information will be provided within 60 minutes or sooner.

You can upgrade to Typst 0.14 now. If you open any project in the Typst web app, we will automatically check it for compatibility. If you are using the open-source Typst compiler, check our open-source page for download instructions for your platform.
Modal with the title "Upgrade your project". It contains this text: "We updated the Typst compiler since you last edited this project. Upgrade this project to benefit from the new features and bug fixes in Typst 0.14.0. You can change the compiler version in the project settings panel at any time."

In a box with a green outline, it says "Your project is ready to upgrade. Your project compiled without errors on Typst 0.14.0. Note that its appearance may have changed."

Your tables tend to run long? Use the new table subheaders to partition tables into distinct sections. Typst automatically repeats header rows (including subheaders) after page breaks, so your tables remain readable no matter how long they grow.
Table broken across two pages. The table has three columns: Compound, Fieldmann-γ, and σ². The latter two columns contain numeric values. Groups of rows have their own heading, for example "Pandora Minerals". The row group "Earth Analogues" is broken across two pages. For its last row on the second page, the top-level header and the subheader rows are repeated.

We also tuned Typst's math mode. Not only can you use different fonts in the same equation now, we also added support for two more fraction styles! Skewed fractions are especially useful where space is tight.
Three renderings of the fraction (1+x) / y. One arranged vertically with a horizontal line between numerator and denominator (caption: math.frac(style: "vertical")), and the other two with a slash inbetween. In the second image, the numerator's baseline is shifted up and the denominators baseline is shifted down (caption: math.frac(style: "skewed")). In the third, they share a baseline (caption: math.frac(style: "horizontal"))

The new title element completes our suite of semantic elements. It makes it easier to insert and style document titles without custom functions, while improving accessibility and SEO.

// Make the title available in

#show title: set block(below: 1.5em)

Your PDFs are now accessible by default, just in time for EU and US legislation. We now use Typst's semantic markup to write PDFs that work with screen readers. Use PDF/UA-1 export to enable thorough checks. And our new guide helps to design for universal access from the start.
A modal with the title "PDF export". It allows changing page range, PDF version, PDF standard, and whether the file is tagged. In the standards category, PDF/UA-1 is enabled, two checkmarks report that the standard is accessible and allows file attachments.
