This screenshot excerpt of Figma shows a supposedly leaked new ability to create a “Website” I first saw it on LinkedIn but it could have originated on twitter. It feels real, even if things like this are easily faked. Really interesting to me, as someone who worked on a website builder for years…

A screenshot excerpt that shows a small part of Figma’s current UI, specifically the “Create” button and its dropdown menu which shows “Design file” “FigJam board” and “Slide deck” as options. Most notably, this screenshot shows a “Website” option as something that can be created now in the dropdown, and it has an “Alpha” tag next to it, presumably because the feature is still early and is being privately tested.

This is not true or is no longer true; on desktop, there is a link that states “Or continue with download only” on the login/sign-up modal that appears when you press download. On mobile, there is also a download button and it starts the DL immediately. It’s true the link is not prominent on desktop

You want to know something messed up that Figma does… I made this font with precise metrics so that every glyph has what should be 2 “pixels” of space on either side… so the bounding box ought to reflect that… but there’s 1 more “pixel” on 1 side… and in the case of centered alignment it does this…?

This first bespoke font I made for Off the Grid features an expanded lower and uppercase character set for Latin & Cyrillic languages, symbols for the UI of the game, stylistic alternatives, 5 weights (with 2 more WIP), and the regular weight is also a quasi-“pixel font” at certain sizes

Did you know? When you use a radial gradient orb avatar it makes the profile area of the toolbar look like it has a very satisfying-to-press three dimensional button in comparison to the stark rounded edge icons
