Traditional art of Bannerfall apokuna wearing three different prom dresses. The first is traditional princess cut poofy skirt that is midnight blue. The Apo wearing it has a dubious expression on her face looking down at it. The second is a strapless teal mermaid cut, hugging their figure and spreading out in a train at the knees with pearls attached to the train, with a sliver white embroidered design on the front. The Apo in this dress is looking off to the side uncomfortable. The third is an empire cut green dress that has a chiffon layer over top a silk layer. This Apo has fully turned her head to the side with a resigned expression, although her chin is up and her shoulders are back. All the Apos have excellent posture and have their star hair clip.

...yes. yes i did try the spin. it spins *so good* I wish i had asked for a spin when i gave it to her, but I forgot. Oh well, life happens! Overall: 10/10 project, I felt like I knew what I was doing 85% of the time, I would not do it again. But if I did, I know how I would go about it.

It was finished. Now all that was left was to clean up my work. I had to hide SOOOO many thread ends. I hope I got them all! Meanwhile my mil had helped me figure out why the skirt was sitting wrong and we got it fixed in one night. We da bomb c:

I attached the belt and added some decorative stitching to the front. I also added a red ribbon to the bottom, to match the inside color of the belt.

The belt and the skirt are being pinned together, wrong sides out.

Both belts are pinned to the skirt. The sewing machine and pins are barely visible in the corner.

A red ribbon is sewn onto the bottom of the skirt with nearly invisible red thread. It looks really good with the pleats c:

The same shiny bronze decorative thread is being used to baste along the seam between the top tier and the bottom three tiers of the skirt.

I got kinda discouraged because even though the skirt looked like a skirt, it was hanging weirdly low in the front. So I took a break and made the belt. And then tried to decide how I wanted the belt to be. I made a few different designs

Two brown and red belts are folded and stacked on top of one another. One of them has an open unfinished side.

I decided that the top tier of the skirt couldn't just be normal and needed to be *special*. So I experimented a little and it seemed to turn out ok (spoilers: it didn't hang right and my mil and I had to undo the seam and redo it better)

Disaster struck! I lost a crucial part of my sewing machine. But my mil came to the rescue again. She lent me her old machine. And she convinced me to stop hurting my wrist.

My mil gave me a leftover drop cloth to protect the skirt from grass and pet hair and that seemed to work great. Because each tier of the skirt was smaller, the more pleats I sewed, the more manageable it got. Eventually I could work on it inside again. I also decided how to lock the hems.

A third tier is pinned to the first two tiers. Plastic is visible underneath. The skirt appears to be rolled in the plastic. Some pins sit in a container on top of the skirt.

The skirt is being fed through a sewing machine with no cord. The setup is janky as hell. I was hand cranking this project up to this point. I almost injured my wrist.

I spent a really long time de-grassifying it. The best method turned out to be just picking the grass off one by one because the wrong side of the fabric, the black side, got fuzzy and rolled pills if I used a lint roller on it. I also tried to pick off the cat hair...

I started working on it outside, laying it across two picnic tables. I had a few unrelated panic attacks that this thing saw me through. One time I worked on it outside for six hours straight. The one downfall of working outside: grass got stuck to it. A Lot. of grass.

The fabric is rolled up and laying across my lap. I am holding up a gingerale. The fabric's wrong side is black, which shows all the tiny bits of grass that are stuck to it. There's a lot of grass.

I don't remember when I cut the fabric and made plans, but I remember I took that first picture on August 3rd. I hand-sewed 12 panels together into four strips. By then it was too long to fit in my apartment unrolled, especially the strip that was 6 panels long.

#VampiresSMP spoilers, #art They go into the militia to discuss their next move. Nobody trusts anyone else anymore, but that's fine as long as they work together. Apo isn't really thinking as she suggests it. No one moves the silver block. She doesn't ask them to.

apo as a koi fish mermaid. Her fish tail is three times as long as her human body. Their expression is slightly amused and looking off to one side, with one arm tucked up close to their chest and the other drifting ahead. Her red-and-black koi tail is curved as if caught in the middle of turning side to side, further supported by the way her hair is drifting outward. There are a few defined scales on their tail, as well as a striking yellow-orange tail fin midway up the tail.

This art was drawn traditionally with ballpoint pen, colored with marker and sharpies, and digitally altered so the white paper background looks like sunbeams cutting through water. The tail portion was drawn by my friend Wysteria and the human portion was drawn by me.
