it's fun how initial d's pacing for their races is pretty slow, but it feels so fast. the road that akina is based on only takes ~15 minutes to drive casually, but the anime stretches an individual high-speed race over two or three 23m episodes pretty regularly. and yet they feel so perfectly paced!
