Someone check if the Doves have accidentally become a good football team. Cullercoats started brightly and looked dangerous from the opening whistle, with Benfield struggling to contain the early pressure. The breakthrough nearly came early on although apparently the referee had other ideas.

Ladies maintain their 100% start to the season in the league. The ladies worked hard to achieve a deserved win and another clean sheet against Prudhoe Town, which is always a good competitive fixture.

After two intense games this week, we arrived at St Thomas More High School a little worse for wear, but still well up for another challenge as we faced last Sunday's opponents again, this time in the league. The sun was out and conditions were beautiful as we warmed up on the school field. It was a rare kit clash, as the home side wore green and white stripes, so it gave us an opportunity to wear our snazzy change kit.

What a way to announce ourselves in the Northumberland League! 👏🏻🩷🖤 The ladies came flying out of the blocks, scoring within the first 3 minutes! 🔥 There was a missed penalty, a few nerves, plenty of laughs… and eventually our coach even turned up! 🤣 Half-time: 3–2 Walker. A quick jig 💃🏻, a team talk and a reminder from the coach that we could apparently do better!

Last night saw the ladies take part in our season opener against Heaton Hawks. The first half saw us have a number of chances on goal which we struggled to take. Until the latter stages of the half, where Bella converted two of the chances. Giving us a 2-0 lead to take into the second half. After half time, Heaton came out with a point to prove, dominating the early stages of the second half.

Keeping up the momentum from Sunday, Whitley earned another 3 points away against Newcastle Benfield. Goals: Linn, Jess H, Carys & Kathryn.

FULL TIME | A super delayed post (admin working overtime!) confirming our recent score against New Fordley. Unfortunately the scoreline makes the game seem worse than it was with us coming out the blocks slow which saw us concede 4 in a short time span, we then settled back into the game scoring one through Hannah - shooting from distance and one the keeper won’t want to see again but they all count!

A much improved second half sees a second goal from Caitlin Black, but the points go to the hosts today.

FULL TIME | Ladies defeated in a 4-2 game at Newburn this afternoon. Despite a debut brace from Leanne and some good play, we couldn’t get the equalising goals as Sluice stood firm. Missing so many key players was always going to be a struggle. A very physical battle from both sides that the ref let go but overall with so many new girls and a disjointed pre season, there were loads of positives for us to take into our future games. Well done to Sluice on their win and we’re coming for revenge in the reverse fixture Leanne B #upthelems
