I’ve been in TypesafeAI's beta for Jev, and I've written a browser extension for it that supports Chrome, Safari, and Firefox on both mobile and desktop. Here's a quick demo. I also have a blog post in the replies with my thoughts and general experience with Jev!

Came to mind how weird it is that we suddenly ask if things run doom again instead of crysis so I made this meme which is based on google trends plus a tiny bit of artistic touch to add waves.

I know it's not the biggest news of the day, but I just spotted this... One of Keir Starmer's last acts in Govt is this: Laying legislation that will legalise 'plug-in solar' (aka balcony solar) panels in Britain It means plug-in solar panels do not (legally) have to be wired in by an electrician.

Alexa is bugged in a way I can’t even come up with an explanation for. Like, I know time zones are hard and all, but this doesn’t even cross time zones.

It's quite neat that you can see when the 3D printer starts heating up, when it does the calibration, and when the actual printing happens, all using a power meter.

I noticed this thing with people (support or just day-to-day people you talk with) where if you ask two questions, they never ever answer both of them. And it's not queued either. Sometimes they answer the first one, sometimes the second one. Why does almost everyone do this?

Wonder when the first IP over Thunderbolt switch is coming out and who is going to make it. Regardless, it will probably cost an arm and a leg.

I tried Gleam for Advent of Code, and I get the hype. AoC was only 12 days this year (24 parts). The easy days were tougher than usual, the hard days were hard but fun. Rust-like compiler errors, pipes everywhere, echo is great, fold_until feels like cheating. blog.tymscar.com/posts/gleama...

I Tried Gleam for Advent of Code, and I Get the Hype
A 12 day Advent of Code year convinced me Gleam is the real deal, thanks to Rust-like errors, great pipes, and surprisingly ergonomic FP.

Hey @b0rk.jvns.ca, I was reading your lovely blog post about BGP again, and you linked bgpview.io in it, but: > BGPView will shut down on 26 November 2025. Thank you for using the service. For comparable BGP lookup and analysis, we recommend BGP.Tools. Might be worth changing URLs to that?

The fact that nVidia makes 2x more revenue from networking (Mellanox) than from gaming (<10%) is kind of crazy.

I wish @github.com would have a visual diff for images where they overlap and show the difference that way. They support 2-up, swipe, and onion skin, but for small differences, none of those help at all a glance.

The iPhone 17 pro max sim slot is identical to the 15 pro max one, except the bottom bit is inverted. So you can’t interchange them, but you can plug one into the other 90% of the way.

So it’s 2025 and I am defragging my drives. Why? Well, I’m on btrfs and because of CoW and the nature of the files I store there, everything tends towards chaos over time. This wouldn’t be an issue with SSDs, but I cannot afford replacing my NAS drives with those just yet.

So @vscode.dev has this new homepage. You can see in the background some binary, so I couldn't help but inspect the page, and yeah, the whole binary isn't repeated at random. It's all written in CSS. So I decoded it to ASCII, and it says: HAPPY_CODING!

I was watching the Lex Fridman and DHH podcast and was surprised that neither knew of any other language that can do `5.times` like Ruby. Smalltalk is 20 years older and can do something very similar. Kotlin and Swift can do it exactly like Ruby thanks to extension functions.
