I checked out Bastard Grave’s 1st album from a recommendation on YouTube & it’s great old school Swedish death metal type stuff. Energetic & fast. I was excited to listen to more. But their second album is just boring, slow, super generic American death metal. What a bummer. Check this one out tho.

I am not a fan of in-ear monitors and click tracks for live music. Some people love it when a band “sounds just like the record” live, but I find that incredibly boring and kinda defeats the purpose of live music. I wanna see the band play a song so fast the lead guitarist is dreading the solo.

I think we all agree that movies have a grey flatness these days. Lighting and color basically don’t exist even in movies where it seems imperative, like Wicked. And I think I finally figured out what it reminds me of. The weird low/no contrast and muted pastel of old colorized photos. Depressing.

My aunt was babysitting me when Leprechaun came out and for some reason thought it would be a great idea to let my cousins and I watch it. I was 4. That same night she watched Body of Evidence and that movie made a much more indelible mark on my memory. Specifically a parking garage scene.

I totally forgot, but a few months ago when the Kelly Clarkson Show was on it’s last week or something, one of her reps reached out to me to see if they could use my Geena Davis portrait on the show. I said yes, and then they ghosted me. I only found out later when I saw clips of Geena online.

I was able to get it down, but they put me on a different plan. I was working towards forgiveness by working for a nonprofit for 10 yrs. As far as I can tell the new plan starts from 0. Ive worked for a nonprofit for 9 yrs. They also lied about forebearance counting towards pmts for the last 6 years

I think Appleseed is ripe for a remake, The Ghost in the Shell-style. I don’t think the original OVA holds up as well as all the hype surrounding it when I was kid, only seeing screenshots and write ups. I never saw the 3D animated one, but I’m not a fan of 3D anime.

I remember reading 1984 in high school and wondering how the people of Oceania could’ve let the government put cameras in their homes. Then smart phones, Amazon Alexas, and Ring cameras came out and I realized they weren’t forced to put cameras in their homes, they welcomed them in with open arms.
