Watched all of Nolan's Batman again. "The Dark Knight" is the best (shocker), though I want to give credit to "Batman Begins" screenplay. Fear permeates every scene of the movie and on the aspects of Batman Nolan chooses to highlight. It's mostly let down by its performances and its set pieces.

There is an interesting thru line of Nolan's disillusionment with modern western civilization in "The Dark Knight Rises" and the themes confronted in "The Odyssey"

I do not love Talia showing up in "The Dark Knight Rises". I understand thematically why it's there but it feels a little tacked on. I, of course, will never complain about Selina showing up.

"The Dark Knight" is Nolan's best opening

Will Fantastic Fest ever top having a demon metal band dismember Trump on stage and spraying the audience with his blood? Unclear.

You haven't lived until you lost your voice singing heavy metal Pink Pony Club with GWAR while you get sprayed with the blood udder hoses (it's water with food coloring)

Jalen Hurts is such a good quarterback until teams drop into zone against him and he is completely useless.

If you like neon noirs and wish they had more gay BDSM fetish, then you owe it to yourself to watch one of the best movies we've ever played at Fantastic Fest.

An 80 year old that starred in Home Alone 2 has died and unfortunately it's the icon Tim Curry who had such an infectious personality that oozed charm and comedy in every scene.
