Another gas station on Indy's east side? That's part of what's planned for 16th and Emerson. The owner isn't answering questions, but plans submitted to the city show a gas station, convenience store and new bar & grill (to replace Shi-Kay). mirrorindy.org/gas-station-...

Streets to Home Indy has housed 231 people in just over a year. That's 12 months of rent paid. I've spent some time getting to know a few of those residents. Their lives have changed quickly and dramatically, from years of living outside to suddenly having a home. mirrorindy.org/indianapolis...

Most of the apartments are for transitional housing, meaning veterans stay for around six months before moving into their own apartment. Some units are for permanent supportive housing, which comes with case management. mirrorindy.org/indianapolis...

The Indiana Senate bill that could lead to a $500 fine/60 days in jail for homeless people who stay on public land passed out of committee today, 8-2. This is the bill from the Cicero Institute that failed last year. Next up: back to the full Senate for amendments.
