You know the pho is good when you can check out several days later.

Google Maps' overview widget showing Southeast Asian restaurant New Pho Paris with 4.3 stars from 128 reviews and a button beneath that says check availability with a bed icon and check-in / check-out day selectors like a hotel.

This makes sense if you look at the pictures as, undescribed in the overview, it's titled New Pho Paris Restaurant & Guest House.

The furred friends of Grimshire all survived a very bad year. The progress image idea is a neat thing I now wish more games had.

One year time lapse of a farm in the game Grimshire. The crop fields expand to the right and up over the year, about halfway through spring a hay field and animal housing appears up and slightly to the left. The tools of food and industry, smelters, saws, smokers, drying racks, kilns, and fermenters grow down and to the right over the year. Almost the full leftward part of the farm is kept as a managed forest starting midspring that expands to encircle the unused parts of the farm.

Naming things is hard. Sometimes, just describing what the thing is and coming back to give it a name later is the best way forward. And some devs think coming back is a waste of time too.

There's a new grump on the lawn.

A turtle, doing its best to make it difficult to photograph by hiding behind blades of grass. Its head is just to the edge of the opening in its solid brown shell, notably spotted with dots of dried mud. The front right leg is also visible with red spots.

Time is an unknowable fluid, but I think this was about ...six months? a year? after the pandemic started. My hair was only just getting to my shoulders then instead of down to about my hips as now. It was a particularly horrible point in life but the hair had volume!

Unsurprisingly, my tension is all over the place. Not doing a thing rarely gets you better at it.

My cat frequently sits facing the corner, staring at nothing apparent.

Treiman leans over the back of the couch and joins Quincy looking up.

"What'cha see?"

A concerningly-sized centipede creature coils around the corner now, with a more human than insect face set with two eyes, an arrow-shaped nose, and long black hair. "Hello Quincy" wriggles out of a too-large grin with too many teeth.

"Tell me you're seeing this, human" Quincy asks the smiling, oblivious Treiman.

The once white centipede now drawn red bleeds into the background as a small face and tiny arms reach out of its grinning maw to answer, "It's just you and me, Quincy."

The last panel returns to the white background, orange couch, and the large eyes and tiny frown of Quincy clinging desperately to the back of the couch as Treiman hugs him.

Pulled out a random piece of paper that conveniently had room for a pun.

A creased piece of paper previously used to describe one of encoding hexadecimal in Cistercian like numerals. At the bottom are examples for 0x11FF, 0xBEEF, and in a play on how some formats have hexadecimal numbers suffixed with h instead of prefixed with 0x, BAAh is written with a pair of black-headed sheep staring at the reader instead. The rear legs of one are smudged from dragging across wet ink.

My cat also likes to go into cardboard boxes and pretend she's captain of destiny. Sometimes she yells.

In what has become a tradition for no particular reason, the latest beetle book, with others nearby, and hair, though done in a hurry so no book staging because I'm late. I did end up ordering two because I forgot I'd already pre-ordered, but that already found a home.

All this talk of JWST reminds me of fiddling around with worldwidetelescope.org and finding a thing that I wish I knew more about. I couldn't find anything mentioning it, but that's probably a me problem.
