Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 09/10/2026First time I've been called a GOAT about anything! Here's some of the maps I've done for Richards novels. He's got a new one coming out soon, the third book in the Great Silence series! 040
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Here are some illustrations I did like 20+ years ago. Some are traditional medium, some are early digital, some are a combination of both. The only one I still know exists is the Skeleton, and it hangs in my studio. 030
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Another map done and delivered and crossed off the list today! There are several maps being worked on at the same time. Today I’m working on Foredance, I want to get the roughs out tomorrow. Then it’s back to the Trove maps for a round of revisions. 030
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I've been illustrating maps for books for 12+ years. So that part, I don't have to sweat or worry about. My process is set. What I focus on is wowing the client, and for new clients my approach is to get them to feel that I've Got This, I'll manage the project for us both. It works. 020
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Something that makes me SO happy. Sending my first round of a map to a client, and getting back: "Tim we love these, can we get an invoice?" You sure can, and toot sweet! 020
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Congrats! I love Humblewood game. I illustrated the cloth map that fake in the deluxe boxed set. Which I got the deluxe set. It’s such a well done setting. They do it right. 120
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I bought this limited edition print. The artists is Victo Ngai @victongai on Instagram. She’s amazing. 040
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 02/10/2026That time I met Matt Groening and talked to him for 15 minutes about how much sex there was on Futurama and how much I loved that. So did he. 030
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Morning Oasis On my way to the studio this morning. Bright and colorful 010
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Available today! 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙊𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙒𝙖𝙮 𝙊𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙐𝙥 by Django Wexler. Here is the map I created for the novel. I'm looking forward to reading this. Thanks Lauren P for the assignment. 0101
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I love when I nail a map so well the publishing company wants to do more with it than just put it in the book. Of course I said yes. 040
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Two of my favorite pieces of art I own. Actually, I love all the art in my place equsllly. The Julie Child one was a commission. The bottom one was something I made for a show when I lived in Chicago. 010
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 24/09/2026PRO TIP: KEEP ALL INFO. Recently I saw a post about a novel I did the map for, being published as a deluxe Spanish edition, which included a fabric version of my map. I didn't remember this map being requested as a relicense for the novel. /1 100
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 24/09/2026A birthday cake me and the husband made for a kids birthday years ago. We made a few cakes for him over the years. Then his parents got ridiculously demanding about them. We were doing these for free as a favor. 220
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I love this map. It’s from the book Dog Wizard, by Barbara Hambly. It’s a favorite of mine. I love the map because of the simplicity of the drawings, which helps make a complex structure clear and easy to understand. One day I’ll do a map like this. Even if it’s for myself. 031
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 22/09/2026And I just spent a few hours, organizing and making folders for each of these that didn't already have one, so when I start on one, all the info is ready to go. Work, work, work. 010
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 22/09/2026I’ve got a total of ten maps on the schedule between now and Jan. Some are new, some are revisions of existing maps for sequels. It’s great to have so much work lined up. Also this is how I keep on track. Just make a list of when things are do. But evaluate which can be done the fastest. 230
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 22/09/2026The old person inside of me, is over all the alphabet codes for everyday things. Just say the words, in most cases it's the same amount of syllables and time. And in some cases, more of them. I don't want to ask you what does GKSJVE or LGGHDJSKJGIUEND means. 020
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Every commercial for a cruise line just makes it seem like a horrible idea more and more. The nightmarish idea of it just gets worse and worse 011
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Me and the husband both took a picture of the same car parked on our street today. A Ranchero!! 110
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Being a Hermit doesn't make everything you say Wisdom. Sometimes they are just crazy smelly people living on the edge of the village. 040
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Morning Drinking Goblins It's never to early to drink when you're a lowly goblin. 120
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Watched the End of Oak Street. And really, really enjoyed it. Great Dinosaur movie, great acting, and lots of fun. With a total Shocking Moment that really hit me so hard. It's set in Metro Detroit, where I grew up. But it was clearly NOT even close to what Detroit looked like in the 80s. 010
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 16/09/2026OPERA! To Hell with Gluck and Handle! It's a scandal that will pack them in the isle! 010
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Sure sure, Sincere is nice. But do you have any Snarky stories of this nature? 010
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Well, that is different than judging a font. I judge 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒔 font 𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒔 all the time. Especially when they use things like Comic Sans when it's not the best choice. Or Papyrus. Mostly if their font choice ends up being very dated. Or if it's not readable. Or they used a display font for body text 000
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Plant overlords you say? Can't be much worse than our current overlords. 030
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 16/09/2026So then Thor, i mean, Froh does something with the weather, and Donner makes a rainbow bridge and they all cross over into the castle of Asgard. Shit Valhalla. 𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝔼𝕟𝕕 110
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 16/09/2026They skedaddle back home and give the Giants all the gold and the ring. The giants squabble amongst themselves and start killing each other, because that's what happens in opera when you get a cursed ring, given to you by your enemy. Also they don't get their lawnmower back. 120
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Wotan and Loge trick Albriech into mono-logging, thus capturing him. They take all his gold, his magic gold lame handtowel, and the One Ring, shit I mean the ring made from Rheingold. Albriech curses the ring, because that's what you do in opera. 120
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 16/09/2026They find Mime, the cousin of Albriech, who sings a heartbreaking aria called Exposition. During which Wotan and Loge learn of a magic gold lame hand-towel Mime made for Albriech that when placed over the owners head, blinds the wearer, making him believe no one can see him. 110
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 16/09/2026But to do so, the gnome had to forsake Bacon forever. The giants, hearing this, offer a deal. Bring them the ring of the Neublingadingdongs, and in return, they can keep Frieda. Wotan agrees, and with Loge go on some pretty cool travels across the set. 110
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Not wishing to give up slimfast, I mean Friea, Loge tells the tail of how the gnome, Albriech stoled the gold from the water-tramps, and forged a ring of great power, able to command all poultry and cure bunions and make your enemies fart on command. 110
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 16/09/2026I watched the first Ring Cycle. To recap, some very fat gods, borrow the Giants lawnmower and fail to return it. In payment, the Giants demand they turn over Freia, who only knows the secret of slim fast, the magical drinks that keep the gods thin. 130
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I love it when the books I do maps for take off. So happy for the authors success. More stories, more people, more options. More ideas. These are the things I love. 030
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 10/09/2026It’s an old one, The Elves and the Otterskin by Elizabeth Boyer. Lovable losers, unlikely hero, and a good mix of humor. Also great villain. It starts, it ends. You don’t need more. 040
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Coming out soon. I did the map for Django’s @djangowexler.bsky.social new novel. And it was such a fun map to do. I love all the maps I do. It’s just always fun to do a non-typical map. His previous map he wanted to drawn on a fast food napkin. This is my framed print hanging in my studio. 071
Tim Paul @tybber.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Well! This is a new one for me. Someone requesting permission to use part of a map on their tattoo. Of course I'm going to say yes. As a note, this is how you should go about this. Ask the artist. Most will say yes. After all, it's just a tattoo, and it's showing real appreciation for your work. 120
