Western N Carolina may just elect a democrat: Jamie Ager. Young folks are coming out in force to make changes. Happy Pride month!

Canine Companions dogs are the best!!! This is Flicka. I raised her to serve and then she was paired with this beautiful little boy. Joy can happen!

My mother called me a contrary and obstinate child, then gave me away to my grandparents to raise. This book gave me hope, and let me know that ‘strong’ and ‘determined’ were far better descriptors.

Who needs a groundhog when we have Tx Sen Ted Cruz? He’s spotted fleeing the Lone Star State ahead of this weekend’s ice storm Armageddon.

Any idea why the Postal Service would sent this notice out, nation wide, to letter carriers? Are officials expecting something bad to happen soon?

This B-52 Boeing Stratofortress just flew over me in Shreveport, LA, landing at Barksdale AFB. From the highway I could see a long line of these long-range, subsonic, jet-powered bombers, all in monstrous rows. Chilling.

Attended a women’s flat track roller derby tournament in Baton Rouge. Lots of different genders, every kind, and the competition was fair, hard fought, and thrilling. Oh, and my daughter’s team’s ranking is now #1!

Stick together, y’all. I’m here at a women’s flat track roller derby tournament in Baton Rouge, LA. Showing all the world that trans and sis athletes can handle any competition with grace and passion.

Meet Vidia. She is a service dog from Canine Companions. I co-raised her with the inmates at the Bryan federal prison, the same place where G.Maxell is. Vidia has completely saved the life of a veteran who suffers from PTSD. Good things can come from bad places. Hang in there, Ann Marie, and find the joy.

I’m a native Texan. I’m pulling up stakes with my puppies and husband and leaving the state. When the R’s took over after Ann Richards was Gov, this state broke our hearts. Yes, it’s hot as hell meaner than it is hot. Low taxes can’t justify our cruelty.

We train service dogs for Canine Companions. Here’s our newest trainee, Flicka, as we ‘turn her in’ for professional training at headquarters. She’s ready for intensive learning and we feel confident Flicka will change lives.

Baton Rouge, blood red Louisiana-protest on the capital steps. Small but mighty.
